Roger Sloan wins!Merritts Roger Sloan shot a final
round of 6-under 66 Sunday & won theinaugural Canadian Tour
WesternChampionship at Rivershore inKamloops by three strokes.
Sloan, who commuted from his par-ent's house just 90km from the
course,finished at 23-under 265. He was able tosecure victory
largely based on his mis-take free weekend. Sloan's only bogeyfor
the tournament came when he hit anerrant tee shot on the par-4
ninth hole.
"I was extremely proud of myself forbeing able to win this
tournament," saidSloan whose father Curtis was caddyingfor him this
week. "Having my Dad onthe bag and my friends and familywatching
was a big bonus for me and Ican say it helped me win."
Roger Sloan now sits in second placeon the Canadian Tour's Order
of Meritwith $31,532 in earnings. The top 5 play-ers following next
month's Players Cupwill earn berths into the PGA's
