If a Budgie loses a tail feather it my have trouble steering when in flight. So make sure you don’t let them fly around a lot because they will crash into walls a lot and hurt them selves. This happens to all birds that’s why you should try to keep them in there cage so they won’t hurt them selves.

A budgie can live from 1-12 years old but most budgies only live 3-10 years. The oldest budgies I have is about 3 years old and the others are from 7 months –2 years old. Baby budgies can be tamed easier then adult budgies because they are young and they will learn faster..

A budgie’s age can’t be told by their outer appearance .

But I can tell my budgies age because I got them all in different times. When I got them they were all the size of a toddler’s hand.
