Why learn about changing a diaper?
It is not rocket science to put on a diaper but there is a technique in executing it properly. Many
of us are not familiar with what is involved in changing a diaper and this validates the need in
taking a course like this one. It will provide the foundation which can be built on after repeated
diaper changes.
In this training course, the learner will be surrounded with individuals like themselves who want
to learn how to change a diaper for various reasons. For example, a caregiver, a family or friend
of someone with an infant, may desire to babysit one day but lacks the confidence in knowing
what is involved. They may have taken other courses covering how to feed, entertain, or deal
with a colicky baby. Having a detailed course on the diapering portion alone will not only build
confidence quickly, but it will provide the learner with sound knowledge needed to tackle this
task properly.

Diaper Changing for the Novice
Vision:
This traditional learning plan is to help individuals unfamiliar with the procedure and technique
in changing a diaper.
Audience:
The traditional learning is directed to parents-to-be, new parents, babysitters, family and friends of parents with infants. This could also be useful in caring for elderly people, who wear adult diapers. This target audience will benefit from taking part in the training as they will learn not only how to change a dirty diaper but it will include a session on the proper hygiene while completing this task and safety methods. Detailed Objectives:
The need for these objectives is to provide the learner with an idea of what should be
accomplished at the completion of the course in more details than the general objective. These
will also assist the administrator in understanding what content needs to be included in
developing a successful e-learning course.
The learner will know the essential materials needed at every diaper change
Enable the learner to demonstrate how to change a diaper to others confidently
Understand why knowing the proper technique and procedure in changing a diaper is
necessary
To allow the learner to retain a majority of the information provided through the use of
various tools such as, videos, animations, simulations on how to change a diaper
To receive an above average feedback rating from the users through an online
community forum of current and former participants
To teach how simple it is to change a diaper once the right technique and procedures
are followed

E-learning Enhanced
Transforming this traditional presentation on how to properly change a baby is more than
possible. The various methods that could be used to accomplish it would include, but limited to:
Creating a video demonstrating the correct way
Pictures or graphics with a step by step explanation
An online interactive game, allowing the learner to learn while completing each task
related to changing the diaper
Followed by an online quiz testing the individual on what was taught
This would all be incorporated on platforms like Blackboard, D2L (Desire to Learn), or even in a
simulation environment.
Also, this would be a great app on any phone, for the parent on the go or the emergency sitter,
who has never changed a diaper. The reference to the app will allow the individual to see a
video or an animation, accompanied with step by step description of what to do.
