Drilling services include solid stem auguring, groundwater monitoring well installation and decommissioning, subsurface condition investigations, soil sampling, aggregate source investigation and construction site assessments. Full Description Successful candidates will have a minimum of 2 years experience operating drill rigs. Experience with soil sampling or geotechnical investigations is an asset, but is not required. A valid “G” driver’s license and a good driving record are required; an AZ license is an asset, but not required. The position involves heavy lifting and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Out of town work and shift work (for example 2 weeks on, two weeks off) will be required. All overtime will be paid in accordance with Ontario legislation. Intermediate Structural Engineer Reporting to the Structural Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will assist with structural analysis and design of commercial, industrial, institutional and residential buildings and bridges as well as preparation of technical reports, building condition assessments and site inspections. Full Description Further duties will include attending coordination meetings when required and assisting senior departmental staff with structural analysis, structural modeling, and structural calculations as required. Field work in the form of construction contract administration supervision and inspection may also be required.

Knowledge in the design of concrete, wood, masonry and steel structures using the latest building codes is required as is a solid understanding of Canadian construction practices. Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and Ontario Highway Bridge Design Code would be a definite asset as would demonstrated ability to work with architects, building owners, contractors, and other consultants to collaboratively develop innovative, cost effective solutions for new construction and remodeling projects. AutoCAD drafting, BIM/REVIT Modeling and working knowledge in structural analysis software is a definite asset.The successful candidate must be a current P.Eng in Ontario with a minimum of 3 – 5 years of Structural Engineering experience in the areas mentioned above. The candidate must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License. This position will require the candidate to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Laboratory Testing Technician Reporting to the Lab Manager and/or Supervisor, successful candidates will perform routine and complex testing for concrete, aggregate, soil and asphalt for a variety of clients all over Northwestern Ontario.
