Mior Roslan bin Dato’ Mior Mohd Jaafar, KSD

Mior Roslan has a Master of Art in Defense and Strategic Studies (UM 2005), Advanced

Diploma in Strategic and Security Studies (UKM 1994) and Diploma in Strategic &

Security Studies (UKM 1989).

His other qualifications include Executive Diploma in Accounting Administration (UM),

Diploma in Human Resource Management (MIHRM), Post Graduate Diploma in

Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and Certificate in Company Administration (CiCA).

He joined the police force as senior police officer in 1978 and opted for early retirement

in 1995. During tenure in the police force, he served the Special Branch and later in

Special Action Unit (UTK) commanding the sniper team. Apart from that he had several

oversea assignments in providing executive protection for the 5th

Prime Minister of

Malaysia, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, whose official visits included nations like India,

Egypt, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Greece and Philippines.

In 1989 he served as Chief Security Officer Istana Negara for the 9th

Seri Paduka Baginda

YDP Agong, Raja Azlan Shah in 1993. His oversea assignments included executive

protection for the royal visits in China, Korea and Hong Kong.

After his early retirement, he joined the private sector where his services included as

security manager at Puncak Niaga Sdn Bhd (1995), The Ascot Hotel Kuala Lumpur

(1999), Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur (2001), and Motorola & Freescale

Semiconductor (2003) and as Nestle Country Security Manager Malaysia and Singapore

(2007) when he had his training stints in Switzerland.

In 2008 he took up the position of Asia Regional Security Manager for ON

Semiconductors where his area of responsibilities included Malaysia, Thailand, India ,

China, Hong Kong, Japan and Philippines till 2010 when he decided to move to

National Defense University as a senior lecturer.

Mior is a member of Asian Professional Security Association (APSA), Retired Senior

Police Officers Association (RESPA), Association of Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE) and

American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and a member of Malaysian Crime

Prevention Foundation of Selangor (MCPF Selangor).

Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in History with University Malaya.
