Aloha nui loa, hope our newsletter finds you doing well. People often ask, Sowhat do you do as a missionary? Well, there are a lot of things, but I read this andthought I would share with bit of rephrasing

We are missionaries. Missionaries to the largest mission field in the world. We

minister to children.

Our calling is sure, our challenge is big, our vision is clear. Our desire is strong. Our

influence is eternal. Our impact is critical. Our values are solid. Our faith is tough.

Our mission is urgent. Our purpose is unmistakable. Our direction is forward. Our

heart is genuine. Our strength is supernatural. Our reward is promised and Our God

is real.

In a world of cynicism we offer hope. In a world of confusion we offer truth. In a

world of immorality we offer values. In a world of neglect we offer attention. In aworld of abuse we offer safety. In a world of ridicule we offer affirmation. In a world

of division we offer reconciliation. In a world of bitterness we offer forgiveness. In aworld of sin we offer salvation. In a world of hate we offer Gods love.

We refuse to be dismayed, disengaged, disgruntled, discouraged, or distracted.

Neither will we look back, stand back, fall back, go back, or sit back. We do not

need applause, flattery, adulation, prestige, stature, or veneration. We do not havetime for business as usual, mediocre standards, small thinking, outdated methods, o

normal expectations, average results, ordinary ideas, petty disputes, or low vision.

We will not give up, give in, bail out, lie down, turn over, quit or surrender.

We will pray when things look bad. We will pray when things look good. We willmove forward when others stand still. We will trust God when obstacles arise. We

will work when the task is overwhelming. We will get up when we fall down.Our calling is to reach boys and girls for God. It is too serious to be taken lightly, too

urgent to be postponed, too vital to be ignored, too relevant to be overlooked, too

significant to be trivialized, too eternal to be fleeting, and too passionate to be

quenched.

We know our mission. We know our challenge. We also know our limitations, our

weaknesses, our fears, and our problems. And we know our God.

Let others get the praise. Let the church get the blessing. Let God get the glory.Children are precious and 100% of all our children will be our next generation of

workers and leaders. Think about the impact they would make if we effectively shar

the Gospel with each one in some way so that they trust Christ as their Savior!

In our last newsletter, we had justbegun our summer ministry. Our group of summer

missionaries had just graduated and been doing

ministry for one week. The summer has finally

concluded and there was a total of 38 5- Day Clubs, 4

weeks of Day Camps and 1 week of Camp Good

News. Over 655 children were able to hear a clearpresentation of the Gospel and at least 64 prayed to

receive Christ. For the first 3 weeks of ministry I hadthe privilege of working with a great team of CYIA

summer missionaries hosting Day Camps, one at a

transitional shelter for the homeless, and two at

churches. The Day camps usually ran from 8am-2pm.

Each day we shared the Gospel through Bible lessons,

memory verses, mission stories and songs. We did

crafts, played games and loved on over 131 children,

50 of which do not attend church. 5 of these children

prayed to receive Christ and got their very first Bible!

lack Gods Supply Hudson Taylor

Ihave heard the above quote numerous times this summer, during5-Day Club and our Day Camp ministries. We told the mission story of

Hudson Taylor to the children each day, and how God used him andprovided for him throughout his life and ministry in China. This quote was a

very nice reminder that when we remain faithful to Him and do what He

desires, He will remain faithful to us. I know this quote is typically meant to

mean, if we are faithful, we will have enough to pay our bills, but I think

there is more to this. I think Hudson was saying when we are faithful in

doing what God desires He will not only supply the finances but everything

we need to do what He has called us to.

Upon our leap of faith onto the mission field, it has been a roller coaster ride

raising support, but we have not lacked Gods Supply. As a result oursupport has reached a consistent 44%. Yes, we need our supply to be 100%

but Gods Supply has never failed! He has provided and continues to

provide for the needs that we have each month. We are thankful for 3 new

monthly supporters, for our Ash Avenue Ohana who have doubled theirmonthly support, our Midway Ohana, who increased their monthly support

in the last calendar year and for all of those who gave a one time gift this

summer or sometime during the year, and to all those who increased their

monthly support or provided for a specific need we had. You are Gods

supply to us and we greatly appreciate each and every one of you.

I also had an opportunity to take a team from ourstudent leadershipacross to Maui for a

week of ministry. We

did four5-Day

Clubseach day. It

was a busy schedule,

that did not see usget home until

8:30pm each night, but it was a great week of

ministry. We stayed in Wailuku (yellow area), but

drove 2 hours each day to do ministry in Lahaina

(dark green area) before heading back to Wailuku todo 3 more clubs. We were able to share the Gospel

with approximately 60 children each day day, 53 of

which do not attend church. 10 of these children

prayed to receive Christ as their Savior for the very

first time. Each day we taught a Bible lesson,

memory verse, mission story, did face painting,played games and loved on the children.

Our last week of ministry ended with our camp ministryCamp Good News where we had an exciting programfocused on evangelism and discipleship. We had 40

campers attend for one week of overnight camping on the

North Shore of Oahu. They attended Chapel, did

devotions, participated in group activities, Bible drill,

enrolled in various electives and enjoyed a great time of

fun and fellowship. I was able to teach a couple of fun

electives classes for the children each day and conduct

games. It was a fun time building relationships with thechildren. There was one child in my elective class that

expressed a desire to one day be a missionary! 3 children

accepted Christ at this camp. What a blessing it is to lookback over the summer and see so many children impacted

by the Gospel.

Summer 2013

Amidst, the already busy summer schedule, myfamily and I were able to spend a weekend with a

local church and teach their children during their

annual church retreat. It was a fun time as I taughtthe importance of missions, told Bible lessons, did

games and crafts with the kids. Our family also had

some downtime to relax and enjoy the beach.Children

I also talked with my Pastor who moved to Hawaii thesame time we did, to plant a church. He and his family

hosted two 5-Day Clubs in two different areas close to

where we live. We had a total of 15 children who

attended each day. Four of these children accepted

Christ!

Prayer is our direct communication line to the Lord. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, and claimingdependence upon God. happen on a regular basis! We want to see irregular things happen in our life and ministry that will bring gloryto God and draw many to Him.

new computer for Kristin.

Over 650 children in Hawaii heard the

Praises & Answered PrayerPrayer Requests

Our Ohana (family) has been doing well. Kristin and I have both had a busysummer. Kristin continues to stay busy with her part time job and the kids. I

have been gone a total of 5 weeks this summer either being off island or doing

ministry on a different part of the island, so she has had her hands full with

work and the kids. We are doing better at making time for our family. We

were able to get a couple VIP tickets for Sea Life Park from our missionaryfriends, so we were able to enjoy a day out with the kids. Timothy & Annikah

are doing well. Timothy will begin homeschool in a few weeks and he is already

excited about his new curriculum. He has also graduated Awana Cubbies andmoving up to Sparks in a few weeks. Annikah apart from being the typical 2 year

old loves to sing Bible songs and color. Esther is growing up fast; she is our calm

and quite child! She is rolling over now and can hold her toys. She can even find

her pacifier and put it in her mouth! We continue to fellowship with our Church

Ohana each Wednesday at Aloha Community Church, a Southern Baptist

church plant. Our group continues to grow and we have begun once a month

services at a nearby park. We also just celebrated our first baptism!
