    Listen and Follow

For the last few days I have had a constant thought running around myconsciousness. While the theme has remained true the headline has changedfrequently and even now it is not clear.

To recap for those who may not have discovered the significance of MAD in theBlog title it is an acronym for Make A Difference and it started out Daily. Well that isnot entirely true when the Master called me to this it was to be a Daily blog to whi ch Ishot back where am I going to get the ideas . Some struggle ensued until I got tothe point of saying OK but You are going to provide the words to use.

Needless to say for so many months He has done just that, God provided the wordsall I did was type. In just so many ways it was similar to the maligned auto -writingonly more so. There have been times when my fingers did the running trying to keepup with the words that were coming out of my thought processes . There have evenbeen times when I have got out of bed in the middle of the night and written an entire600 or so word blog because I was getting no peace in bed otherwise: I learnt torecognize those moments and act upon them.

So what was this theme/idea that has possessed me over recent days? Simply thislisten and then write. For some time now I have been aware of attempting to beproductive, often without prior inspiration.

It occurred to me today that this was Gods model for the prophets of the OldTestament. Elijah spent a long time hiding from the wicked Jezebel who had acontract out on his head but when the time was right God brought them all togetherfor a showdown to see who would be the God of Israel .

Isaiah was another who had a topsy turvy experience. He was granted an a udiencewith the Almighty and expected to be struck dead for what he had seen . Instead hehad a hot coal touched to his lips and made his sins go away. So when God asks

who can He send Isaiah pipes up me, me, me. It is a scene straight out of a goodbook but what does God say it goes like this He says tell the people.

"Listen hard, but you aren't going to get it; look hard, but you won't catch on.'

Make these people blockheads, with fingers in their ears and blindfolds on their eyes, So they

    won't see a thing, won't hear a word,

So they won't have a clue about what's going on and, yes, so they won't turn around and be

    made whole."

Now I am not trying to suggest that I have the calling of a prophet; I am more like acatalyst I think. However there is a certain link in that Our Father is the One forwhom I write. I do not write about Him I write the words He gives me. At a guess Ifigure that I could probably churn out a blog a day on many of the topics that havebeen covered in the 160 or so blogs that have been written, and yes some may

make a difference for someone. But the essential difference is that I would bestringing the words together instead of conveying a message that Father has givenme.

I will continue to wait on the Master for he has the words of life for me and the FaithCommunity I believe he has called me to support. It is He who makes this Mad Madexperience liveable and until He says enough I am content to be a finger tapping fothe Master His words for our time.
