Mobile Instant Reporting: why?

The ability to receive structured reports is a fundamentalnecessity for who wants to keep track of every business processeven a moving one.

Modern palm devices, like the Blackberry, have the possibility to

receive different kinds of reports but:– xls and pdf formats are not easily readable because formattingis not kept (fonts, rows and columns)

– dashboards are not easily browsable with a palm device (onlyby very expert users)

Consequently mobile phones and palm devices are seldom usedto receive structured reports, like sales figures or other businessparameters.

Mobile Instant Reporting: how it works

A table/query containing data to be exported on the graphicalreport is generated by the ERP platform.

A custom routine converts the table/query to XML formatspecifying the exact email address of the recipient and the

graphical report format.

The XML file is sent to the MIR Engine that converts it to thegraphical report (jpeg image) already optimized for theparticular palm device and sends it to the recipient as an email

attachment.

The report is immediately received on the palm device of theuser and shown by the image viewer after opening theattachment.

Mobile Instant Reporting: PUSH

MIR technology allows to optimally apply modern push-marketing procedures whose purpose is to exercise pressuretowards obtaining commercial results.

It is actually possible to schedule sending of daily/weekly results

to sales managers and other departments to keep a highperception of achieved results and near-term objectives.

The aim of this is to grow the sensibility towards objectivesachievement and to keep high the attention of all the sales

force.

Mobile Instant Reporting: PULL

MIR technology permits to immediately read all the data for thehigher management levels (CEO, CFO, etc...) using simplereports sent on the palm device.

In fact it is possible to program the sending of data for

management functions (management control, treasury, ecc...)diversifying the report structure based on the particularrecipient.

Every information available in the business management system

can be adapted and shown on your palm device; it is sufficientto schedule its extraction and sending using MIR technology.

Mobile Instant Reporting: scalability

MIR technology has been initially implemented on the blackberryplatform in virtue of its large diffusion in the business field.

It is however usable to generate reports that can be visualizedon every cellular phone with a graphical display (ex. Nokia,

Samsung, I-Phone, etc...).

To show reports with many columns/rows of text it is necessaryto have palm devices with a display of the right resolution anddimensions.
