1. Structure of the Bachelor Program
International Business and Technology (7 Semester)
The first five semesters are spent at Nuremberg Institute of Technology at the faculty of Business Administration and linked faculties “Electrical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Information Technology”, “Mechanical Engineering and Building Services Engineering” and “Applied Mathematics, Physics and Humanities”.
During the first two semesters the foundations for the program are laid by offering basic classes in International Business, Accounting, Law, Mathematics, Physics and two languages. Starting at semester three the students choose one of the following technical specializations provided by the linked faculties: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Natural Science and Technology and gain detailed knowledge for the following three semesters. Students also continue their education in Business related topics.
English language classes and classes in another foreign language as well as classes in Intercultural Communication prepare for international work competence and for the possible time abroad.
During the remaining two semesters of the program the students have the possibility to go abroad to study at one of over 70 partner universities of Nuremberg Tech and to do an internship of 16 weeks in an internationally operating company either abroad or in Germany. It is not mandatory to study abroad, but mandatory to successfully complete an internship. The internship should be divided into two parts at the end of the 6th semester (semester break) and start of the 7th semester.
During the possible semester abroad or - if they decide to stay in Germany - at Nuremberg Tech students have to take additional courses (special electives) from their chosen specialization or related to their business studies. Students will be able to choose from a variety of electives depending on their future career plans. With the Bachelor’s thesis the study program can be concluded in 7 semesters, awarding the student with 210 ECTS.
Study option International Business and Technology Plus (IBT Plus)
After semester 5 students have the possibility to switch to the study option International Business and Technology Plus (IBT Plus). The curriculum of the first 5 semesters is identical. Starting semester 6, IBT Plus students focus strongly on the international aspect of their studies by leaving Nuremberg Tech for the next two semesters of the program. An internship of 20 weeks in an internationally operating company is scheduled for the 6th semester followed by a study semester, the student’s 7th semester, at one of over 65 partner universities of Nuremberg Tech. While at a partner university the student has to attend business or technical related classes of at least 15 weekly contact hours plus one or two classes in general sciences (social studies, cultural issues) of at least 5 weekly contact hours.
During the remaining semester of the program students choose a compulsory Elective Module depending on their future career plans and have to write a term project in technology. With the Bachelor’s thesis the study option IBT Plus can be concluded in 8 semesters, awarding the student with 240 ECTS.

2. Modular Structure of the Degree Program Each module is considered one unit, which can consist of several courses. The weight of each module is determined by the amount of credit points assigned to the course(s) within a particular module. The arrangements for the courses in terms of course structure, exam performance, etc. are defined in the Study and Exam Regulations (SPO) of the degree program and summarized in the following table:

presentation (25%). All parts have to be successfully passed. Potential excursions/guest lectures/offsite can be made mandatory to join or requested to be compensated by an additional assignment which will be determined during the lecture each semester!
Teaching method Lecture, presentations, guest lecture Learning objectives This is an advanced course aimed at bachelor students in their
semesters 4-7. The course builds on, and extends, concepts experienced in “Foundations of Business Administration”. The four pillars of general management (planning, organizing, leading and controlling) will be revisited. Links will be introduced from these four pillars to strategic choices and made apparent through cases. i. By the end of the course the student will have grasped how to develop a strategy. This development process uses an integrated planning and control system. The system affects and steers an organization, both at the strategic and operative levels. ii. Additionally the student will have gained knowledge of how strategy is formulated in the opposite way to the planning approach of ii above. Here strategy will be seen as a craft arising out of incremental experiments. iii. The course will reach its culmination when the student grasps the logic involved in the learning organization, the currently accepted most modern form of management. English competence in the terminology of the subject.
Course contents • What is Strategic Management –definition and basics • Why Strategic Management – conceptual framework
