A Message from Our President
The holiday season has begun. This is my favorite
time of year and, if it is like the rest of year, it is go-
ing to pass much too quickly. I am hoping my fam-
ily and I get to really enjoy every moment. These
kids are growing up at alarming rates! This morning
my daughters woke up to see that our elf, Apricot,
had flown in. At o dark hundred they came rushing
into our room to wake me up and let me know she
had arrived. This is the first time they’ve shown true
excitement over these little holiday rituals. Who
knows how we will hold them back from seeing the
gifts Santa brings before we wake up! The days of
sleeping in on Christmas morn-
ing are likely gone and will not
return for another ten years.
Speaking of Santa, our Sunday
with Santa party is nearly here.
It is one of our special family
events we will have this month.
So many of you have signed up
and we are so delighted to have such a huge percent-
age of our members participate in such an event. For
those of you who have not been, I do hope you find
the party to be what you were expecting and more.
We have been blessed with some amazing sponsor-
ships this year – John Freeman of Raymond James
has provided us with some fantastic Reindeer
games, the Cookie Cottage will be in charge of our
cookie decorating table and Lil’ Divas and Dudes
will have several hair stylists on hand that will be
braiding hair, gelling little dudes’ hair and providing
light makeup for photos.
In addition to the above mentioned help, John Free-
man and Lil’ Diva and Dudes are also providing
some raffle prizes for our fundraiser for FELT. In
addition to the gifts they’ve donated, you’ll see
many more that you can put your raffle tickets to-
wards. For those of you who are not
attending the party, Jill and I will be
more than happy to put raffle tickets
in for you. Winners do not need to be
there when the drawing is completed.
I’d also like to take a moment to
thank all of our moms – Valerie Demino, Michele
Dillingham, Laureen Vassallo, Julie Katchen, An-
gela Campano, Julie Ruffing, and Rebecca Turgeon
who have donated gifts as well as Michelle Faught
of Chloe + Isabel, Orange Theory Fitness, Bobbledy
Books and PlayAway for supporting our fundraiser.
After the Sunday with Santa party is over, we have
several other events coming up that you and your
families can enjoy. Our monthly meeting is a cookie
exchange and kids and husbands are welcome to at-
tend. We are looking into a way to include a small
dinner as well. I’m just figuring out the logistics of
this still. Right now, I’m thinking it’ll be a spaghetti
dinner, but we will see!
Our December Kid’s Outing is a trip to the Cookie
Cottage. I do hope many of you will be able to at-
tend and show our thanks to Ms. Cathy for all of her
support to our group. She’s been an amazing spon-
sor to us this year and if you ever go and visit her
shop, please let her know how much you appreciate
her. She’s amazing!
And finally, we all deserve a good Moms’ Night
Out. Karen has arranged for a fun and festive night
for us. I hope to see many of you there during our
gift exchange at Brio. If I don’t see you, I hope that
you are taking the time to celebrate the season with
your family and cherish these moments that seem to
slip away so quickly.
If I don’t see you this
month, Happy Holidays
and, as Olaf says, warm
hugs!!
Victoria Cobb

Monthly Meeting Update
Playground Equipment
During our November monthly meeting we met with Ryan Heise, Director of Operations of Lakewood Ranch Inter-
District Authority. He wanted to get some insight into what we thought our playgrounds needed. He was hoping to
add some more fitness equipment to the playgrounds. Things that adults could utilize. In addition to us, this equip-
ment would also be beneficial to the elder Lakewood Ranch residents. He shared with us some catalogs with exam-
ples of what he had in mind.
In addition to that equipment, these are additional/alternative suggestions that we came up with:
a barrier of some sort around the retention pond near Adventure park. Low bushes or some sort of aquatic
plants
sandboxes removed for health issues. Moms mentioned sand fleas, lice, mold, etc.
one of the moms really liked bridges and low climbing equipment (nothing so high that kids get stuck up in
the air and can't figure out how to get down...us short moms can't reach them if it is too much past our own
height) and wish more of those were added
foliage between areas in Summerfield need to be kept low so parents can get a visual of their children play-
ing in all of the areas
additional benches requested at Summerfield location
repairs to hockey rink to make it safer
suggestion for benches in areas where they bridge two areas, could they be backless so you could actually
sit on them and face any direction
If you were not in attendance but have suggestions for Ryan, you can email [email protected] to share your
thoughts and we can compile all of them for him.
Cute Kid Quotes
Ryann (5)- "Mom, you gave me the wrong food for dinner. Now I have to write you a ticket."
Reese (5)- "Hey Mom, did you know that Santa is THE best gift-giver in the whole world?!”
"While looking through a toy catalog, my daughter pointed out something that she would like to have. I told her we can ask Santa for the gift. Her re-sponse, "no, I'll just ask daddy". Sofia and her daughter Milla

plimentary copies to many businesses around Lakewood Ranch. In addition, a copy of the newsletter is provided to all

**Platinum sponsorship includes opportunity to be a guest speaker at a member meet and greet or monthly meeting. An-
other option could be to provide a coupon or door prize to use at one of these events. In addition that opportunity or, in lieu

the moms at your restaurant or a special class for children at your gym.
To get the most out of your sponsorship, we recommend you begin discussing the details with our president at least two
months prior to the event so your logo/name can be included on all of the advertisements when we begin getting the word
out for the event.
