Pell amounts will reflect the number of credits you are enrolled in. If you are registered for less than 12 credits your Pell grant will be reduced to the allowable limit based on the U.S. Department of Education's schedule. There is a limit to the amount of Federal Pell money students can receive. If you are withdrawing from classes and/or not passing classing, you may reach your Pell limit. The Federal Processor determines if a student has met their eligibility limit and will be in contact with students that are in danger of running out of eligibility. Federal Supplementary Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG): A grant of money provided by the federal government and awarded by Montclair State to assist undergraduate students with exceptional financial need. Recipients must be eligible for a Pell grant. Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant (TEACH GRANT): A federal grant of up to $4000 per year to students who intend to teach in designated highneed fields in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low income families. If you receive a TEACH grant, but do not complete the required teaching service, you will be required to repay the grant as a Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, with the interest charged from the date of each TEACH Grant disbursement. Students must be admitted into a program with a Teacher Education certification to qualify for the grant. This grant is only available to eligible Junior, Senior and Graduate students.
