Support for Smoke-Free Outdoor Areas
Among different outdoor areas, 89.6% of respondents said public events should be smoke-free. More than 80% of the
respondents would favor a law that would ban smoking at public parks (87.8%), on dining patios (81.4%), in service areas
(80.1%) and around doorways and windows (86.2%).
72.7% of respondents would feel more comfortable asking someone to stop smoking in an outdoor area if it were illegal.
82.3% of respondents would dine outdoors more often if it was smoke-free. 56.9% of current smokers and 84.4% of non-smokers would dine outdoors more often if it was smoke-free.
