DESCRIPTION
I invented the first computer-based cash-register and number of other innovations in retail-automation. I did one of my first installations for a dress shop. Why use computers? Well, if you sell a red dress and a green dress at your shop and I sell a red dress and a blue dress at my shop, neither of us know the red dresses are hot, and the black dresses are dogs. By combining information between stores, we can raise the price of the red dresses, and order more, slash the price on the black dresses and cancel those orders. Do this consistently, and we both triple the products we sell from a given dollar amount of inventory, more than paying for the cash register system. Other innovations; product scanners, credit-card scanners. I also put the first credit-card scanner in a gas pump!
