METHODOLOGY

Pre-processing part: a) Mesh - 0.05mm for element size - 12631 total elements b) Boundary condition - inlet = 260 m/s - use SUTHERLAND as fluid medium - pressure far field for wall

ANALYSIS PROCEDURES

Solving parts 1) Spalart - Allmaras - suitable for airfoils boundary layer 2) Boundary condition - pressure far field Post-processing 1) monitors = CD and CL 2) set iteration for 1000times11

RECOMMENDATIONS

CONCLUSIONSy First objective was achieved with all result about

81mm mortar can be nown by using ANSYS FLUENT 13.0.y the second succeeded objective which is the

potential location with high velocity located around the front body.

RECOMMENDATIONS

FUTURE RECOMMENDATIONS1. Studies on propellants for mortar bombs li e the characteristic and figure of the propellant. 2. Terminal ballistic analysis.3. Other

materials can be used to replace the materials used to see how it will gives effect to the result.

4. The proposed model to be fabricated and fired in order to confirm that it can perform as simulation results.28 April 2011 Mech. Engineering Dept Faculty of Engineering 30
