Closing Bell: BSE Sensex closed lower by 188 points, or 0.64%, to 29,233, while the Nifty 50 fell 63 points, or 0.69%, to 9,045. Major losers were, Tata Steel 2.84%, Coal India 2.28%, Reliance 2.03 percent, Tata Motors 1.46%, Asian Paint 1.42% and SunPharma 1.39%. Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth Rs543.35 crore on last Friday, as per provisional data released by the stock exchanges. Aviation stocks trade higher. Jet Airways India Ltd shares rise 3%, SpiceJet Ltd shares rise 5.6%, InterGlobe Aviation Ltd shares rise 2.6%. GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd shares rise 5% to Rs 6.09. GVK Power & Infrastructure completed the 33% stake sale in Bial to FIH Mauritius, Fairfax for 20.2b rupees, according to a company statement post-market on March 24. Fortis Healthcare Ltd shares rise 1.5% to Rs 179.45 after Bloomberg reported that the company is weighing a buyout of the Singapore-listed business trust that owns some of its clinics. Fortis is considering making an offer for all the units it doesn’t already own in RHT Health Trust, which has a market value of S$726m ($520m). Reliance Industries Ltd shares fall 1.4% to Rs1,268 after the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Friday banned Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) from accessing the equity derivatives market for a year, and directed the company to disgorge the profits made by violating the rules on unfair trade practices when it sold a stake in its erstwhile unit Reliance Petroleum Ltd. Aurobindo Pharma Ltd shares fall 2.6% to Rs670.05, Strides Shashun Ltd fell 1.4% to Rs1,122.85. The European drug regulator has recommended suspension of around 300 medicines on which bio-equivalence studies were conducted by the Chennai-based Micro Therapeutic Research Labs (MTRL), citing unreliability of data. Westlife Development Ltd shares rise 6% to Rs221.90 after brokerage firm CLSA rated the stock with buy rating and increased its target price to Rs 300 a share. Shares of Divi’s Labs jumped over 3 per cent in Monday’s trade after the company said that less than 5 per cent of its business has been impacted by the recent USFDA alert on Unit-II at Visakhapatnam, given several of its products were exempted from the alert. Shares of FCS Software (down 16.67 per cent), Raj Rayon (down 16.67 per cent), REI Agro (down 11.11 per cent), REI Six Retail (down 11.11 per cent), Refex Ind (down 9.91 per cent), IOL Chemicals (down 9.17 per cent), Zenith Birla (down 9.09 per cent) , Poly Medicure (down 7.27 per cent), Nu Tek India (down 7.14 per cent), KEC Int. Ltd (down 6.48 per cent), Infibeam Incorporation (down 5.82 per cent) , Sathavahana Isp (down 5.77 per cent), NBI Industrial Finance Company Ltd. (down 5 per cent), Viji Finance (down 5 ) were trading over 5 per cent down. Oil prices dipped on Monday as rising U.S. drilling activity outweighed talks that an OPEC-led production cut initially due to end in mid-2017 may be extended. Prices for front-month Brent crude futures, the international benchmark for oil, eased 7 cents from their last close to $50.73 per barrel by 0145 GMT. In the United States, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were down 14 cents at $47.83 a barrel.

News: JSW Infrastructure Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the JSW Group, is

likely to go public by 2019. The company will come up with an initial public opening (IPO) only after it reaches an operational capacity of 100 million tonnes, which is likely by 2019, Sajjan Jindal, chairman of the group.

Kaveri Shares of the seed producer swung between gains and losses after it approved a buyback plan. The company will buy back up to 29.6 lakh shares or 4.3 percent of equity at Rs 675 each. Shares of Aban Offshore Ltd. erased losses and surged as much as 2.63 percent to Rs 228 after it received a letter of award from ONGC for the charter hire of a drillship Aban ice for a period of three years. The value of the contract is Rs 471 crore and the deployment is expected to commence during the second quarter of calender year 2017, the company’s press release said.

The Building and Factories Business segment of the construction arm of Larsen & Toubro has won orders worth Rs 2,490 crore. The exchange filing says that the company has won an order from a government organization for the construction of a hospital building, a medical institute, a nursing college, a school for paramedics, an auditorium, hostels, residential quarters along with associated works in New Delhi.
