MS Announcements: Monday, Nov. 5 th Middle School 1. Tomorrow, Nov. 6 th , is Picture Retake Day for any students in grades 6-11 who were absent on picture day or who need a retake for some reason. 2. FCCLA is again sponsoring the annual dodgeball tournament. It will be on Saturday, Nov. 17 th in the high school gym. 3. Attention 7 th & 8 th grade cheerleaders – There will be a mandatory parent meeting for junior high winter cheerleaders today at 6:00pm in the high school health room. 4. Anyone interested in 7 th & 8 th grade or high school wrestling this year, there will be a meeting today at 6:30 in the health room for you to meet your coaches and find out information about the upcoming season. Please plan to attend. If you can’t attend, but want to wrestle, make sure you let Jake know. 5. Attention boys 6th grade basketball players. There will be an organizational meeting for parents and players Tuesday evening, November 6th, at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be in the elementary cafeteria. It is important that you attend this meeting. 6. Let It Snow!! – Pick up your Mad River Mountain Ski Pass information from Mrs. Thornburg ASAP. 7. Attention All WLS Students – the first annual performance of the West Liberty-Salem Drama Club is coming up later this week. Come out and watch “Archie and the Wallflower” on Thursday 11/8 at 7:00, Friday 11/9 at 7:00 and Saturday 11/10 at 2:00. Tickets are only $6 and can be purchased at the door. Please join us for this light- hearted comedy of errors with lots of little twists and turns. It will be a great way to spend the evening or a Saturday afternoon. 8. The Sixth Grade Lego Club will meet today after school until 4:00 in Mr. Barhorst’s room. We will meet on the first Monday of each month. Lego Club is for sixth graders only. Bring your Legos and we’ll see you there! Athletics 1. Congratulations to both of our high school cross country teams. Our boys finished 16 th at the State Cross Country Meet on Saturday and our girls finished in 6 th place at State. For the boys, Aaron Scott was 51 st , Alex Adams-62 nd , Joey Adams-107 th , Chris Buschur-122 nd , Ross Kelley-135 th , Stephen Whetstine-136 th , and Alex Steiner-137 th . For the girls, Meghan Vogel finished on the podium in 5 th place overall. Other finishers were Alyssa Strickland-30 th , Shawnda Henault-42 nd , Jasmine Smith-43 rd , Savanna Shipp- 116 th , Jordan Smith-131 st , and Sarah Williams-140 th . Congratulations to both teams on another outstanding season. Also, congratulations to Meghan, Shawnda, Jasmine, Savanna, Jordan, Sarah, Aaron and Alex who finished their high school cross country careers on Saturday. What a great group of seniors. 2. The WL-S football team improved to 11-0 by defeating Dayton Christian in play-off action Saturday night by a score of 28-14. With the victory WL-S advances to the second round of the state play-offs and will play Coldwater at Piqua High School on Saturday at 7:00pm. Pre-sale tickets are available starting Tuesday at the school during normal business hours as well as at McCulla’s Sew and Vac in West Liberty and at Stocksdale Insurance in Urbana. Pre-sale tickets are $7 each and tickets at the gate are $9 each. Purchasing pre-sale tickets is encouraged as the school gets a
