Continuum, emphasizes the artistic collaborations between generations and

re-establishes the jazz language as a continuum uniting artists.

NEA Jazz Master, renowned Grammy Award‐winning saxophonist, and Tony Award nominee Branford Marsalis is among the most revered instrumental-ists of his time. ability to communicate his enthusiasm. It is a warm showmanship that trans-

form his own passion into infectious joy, whether he’s leading his own bands,

sharing the stage with jazz legends like Sonny Rollins, Chick Corea, Herbie

Hancock or Pat Metheny, accompanying pop giants like James Brown, Sting or

The Roots, or collaborating with classi-cal masters like Kathleen Battle, Edgar

Meyer or the Shanghai Quartet.

JASON MORAN //Solo // May/June 2019

Since his formidable emergence on the music scene in the late 90s, jazz pianist

JASON MORAN has proven more than his brilliance as a performer. The

Blue Note Records recording artist has established himself as a risk-taker and innovator of new directions for jazz as a whole. In almost every category that matters – improvisation, composition,

group concept, repertoire, technique and experimentation – Moran in all

his settings, group, solo, and special projects, has continuously challenged

the status quo, and earned the reputation as “the future of jazz”.

“Mr. Moran had crafted something concise and moving that combined the spark of collective improvisation at its

best with the arc of a fine dramatic scene...some decidedly forward-leaning

music.” // THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

JON CLEARY //New CD 2018 // November 2018 February/March + June + August/September 2019Solo Christmas // December 2019

While steeped in the classic New Orleans’ keyboard canon – from Jelly Roll Morton to Fats Domino to Art Nev-ille, James Booker, and beyond – JON CLEARY uses that century’s worth of pianistic brilliance as a point of depar-ture to forge his own unique and eclectic style wrapped in such far-flung influ-ences as ‘70s soul, gospel music, funk, Afro-Caribbean (and especially Afro-Cuban) rhythms and more. Obviously he does it well as it garnered him a Grammy for his latest release, Go-Go Juice.

band, Dirty Loops. The band made a name for themselves very quickly with

their twisted pop covers beginning with their take on Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” and gathered a following through their

worldwide tour with Maroon 5. Follow-ing numerous viral hits, with over 32

million YouTube views collectively, Jonah has gone solo with a new EP due to hit

it big with the funk-jazz track “Coffee Break” with Richard Bona on bass and a

JOSHUA REDMAN // James Farm // October 2018Still Dreaming // February + July 2019Guest Artist // June 2019

JOSHUA REDMAN is one of the most acclaimed and charismatic jazz artists to have emerged in the 1990s. Son of legendary Dewey Redman and dancer Renee Shedroff, he was exposed at an early age to a variety of musics (jazz, classical, rock, soul, Indian, Indonesian, Middle-Eastern, African) and instru-ments (recorder, piano, guitar, gatham, gamelan). The early influences of John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, Cannonball Adderley and his father, as well as The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, the Tempta-tions, Earth, Wind and Fire, Prince, The Police and Led Zeppelin are threads within Joshua’s music.

“Redman is among the most accom-plished living practitioners of the jazz tenor saxophone, and can be counted on to shred on demand.” //NPR

JUSTIN KAUFLIN //March + July 2019

Pianist JUSTIN KAUFLIN began with classical studies on violin and piano.

From age six, he performed concerts, eventually becoming concertmaster for several orchestras. Along the way, Jus-tin also started to lose his vision, until he

was totally sightless. Not to be deterred, he developed a love for jazz. Mentored

by Harold Mabern and Clark Terry, Kauflin’s style embodies the ‘’quiet fire’’ lyricism of Bill Evans (Kauflin’s ‘’biggest

influence at age 14’’), the nimble and mercurial qualities of Bud Powell, the

genial melodiousness of Herbie Hancock and a bit of Dave Brubeck’s gregarious

percussiveness.

“He’s a monster on the piano! And, one of the greatest people I know.”

KURT ELLING // October/November 2019“A Beautiful Day” Christmas Program //December 2019

Every one of KURT ELLING’s ten albums has been GRAMMY nominated. Every one. Elling’s rich baritone spans four oc-taves, featuring both astonishing tech-nical mastery and emotional depth. His deep repertoire includes original com-positions and modern interpretations of standards, all of which are springboards for Elling’s inspired improvisation. A unique Holiday program is available, created around “The Beautiful Day”, his Christmas CD release on Sony/Okeh.

an incredible solidarity. The band mem-bers share a bond far beyond perform-ing the notes and letting go in the solos.

Their shared history as Israeli expats, neighbors, friends, imbue Qantar with

the key to Avital’s success: his ability to bring the various rhythmic and harmonic
