Scotland is a country full of lakes. There are more than 30,000 lakes in Scotland (or LOCHS as they are called in Scottish Gaelic) and the largest one is Loch Lomond. Perhaps the most famous lake is Loch Ness because of a famous monster that is said to live there.

Some people think that in Loch Ness lives a mysterious animal. Not everyone believes this is true, and no one really knows what it looks like! The Loch Ness monster is also called “Nessie”. If you visit Loch Ness, keep an eye out there to see if you can spot the world’s most famous monster!

When we think of Scotland we usually think of kilts and bagpipes. However, Scots don’t wear kilts and play bagpipes every day! They wear kilts on special occasions such as weddings and festivals. The bagpipe is a traditional Scottish musical instrument, and a person who plays the bagpipe is called a piper.

Scotland is one of the four countries in the United Kingdom and it has a population of about 5 million people. Scotland’s capital city is Edinburgh but the biggest city is Glasgow. Edinburgh is a beautiful city in south - east Scotland. They say that it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
