This two day National Level Musculoskeletal Workshop was part of the activities of the Musculoskeletal (India) Project funded by Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation in collaboration with Hemophilia Federation (India). Before this National Level workshop she had also conducted the four preliminary regional MSK workshops in year 2016 at Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kolkata and Surat as part of the MSK Project. The main agenda of this collaborative meeting was to initiate a discussion on current physiotherapy practices across the country. A panel of 10 prominent physiotherapists were invited from across the country to participate in the meeting. Dr. Paul McLaughlin was invited to share ideas on standards of practice as well as to give his expert input at the meeting. One of the chief concerns raised was the persistent evidence of joint and muscle disease in boys who had been on primary prophylaxis - thus indicating that physical fitness and well joints will continue to be of concern even among this group of PwHs. Physiotherapy particularly 'Prophylactic' or 'Prehab' therapy will be of great importance in the management of this group. Protocols of physiotherapy were also discussed and debated upon during this meeting. These protocols will soon be going on clinical trial as part of Phase 3 of the HFI- NNHF Musculoskeletal Project.
