Earthquake

A sudden violent shaking of the ground, typically causing great destruction, as a result of movements within the earth's crust or volcanic action.



Hurricane

A violent storm, characterized by extreme fury and sudden changes of the wind, and generally accompanied by rain, thunder, and lightning; -- especially prevalent in the East and West Indies.



Tornado

Destructive vortex of violently rotating winds having the appearance of a funnel-shaped cloud and advancing beneath a large storm system.



Blizzard

A strong bitterly cold wind accompanied by a widespread heavy snowfall.



Avalanche

A large mass of snow and ice detached from a mountain slope and sliding or falling suddenly downward.



Tsunami

Tsunami is an ocean wave generated by a submarine earthquake, volcano or landslide.



Volcanic Eruption

The sudden occurrence of a violent discharge of steam and volcanic material eruption.



Whirlpool

A quickly rotating mass of water in a river or sea into which objects may be drawn, typically caused by the meeting of conflicting currents.



FloodsDrought A long period of abnormally low

rainfall, especially one that adversely affects growing or living conditions.

An overflowing of water onto land that is normally dry.
