NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety This course has been developed for multinational organisations in all sectors working in accordance with international standards or directives but adapting to local needs. The certificate is an internationally recognised qualification which provides an excellent underpinning knowledge of safety & health and a sound basis for evaluating hazards and risks. This qualification is awarded by NEBOSH, the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, UK’s leading health and safety professional body with over 25 years experience in providing up to date and relevant examinations. Upon successful completion of the course, the graduate with 5 years of experience within a health and safety position may apply for Technician membership (TechIOSH) with IOSH — the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. Unit GC 3 International Health and Safety Practical Application The completion of a health and safety assessment of a work place report to management (due for

submission 14 days after the examinations).

Assessment Candidates are assessed by two 2-hour written examinations and one practical assessment. Upon successful completion and passing, they will be awarded the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health. Completion dateline for this qualification is up to 5 years from registration.

Study modes & location Full-time – 10 days of classroom based learning over a period of two weeks Part-Time / Weekend Learning— Guided and classroom based where delegates will be provided

with hardcopy course materials. Distance Learning – Guided, non-classroom based, delegates will be provided hardcopy course

materials requiring them to submit assignments and mock examinations to a nominated tutor for guidance and feedback

E-learning – Interactive learning via KBAT’s e-learning portal. Delegates will be provided course materials online – requiring them to submit an assignment at the end of each unit to a nominated tutor for guidance and feedback

Combined Learning – Guided, non-classroom based, delegates will be provided hardcopy course materials as well as E-learning portal access.

Part-Time / Weekend Learning

Specially designed for individuals who prefer to have face-to-face interaction with the instructors yet cannot commit to a block of ten-days full time weekday training due to their daily work schedules. This learning will be delivered over 4 days (two weekends) for Unit IGC 1 and 4 days (two weekends) for Unit GC 2, plus a re-fresher day for exam preparation. A total of 33 hours shall be covered during the IGC1 course. Private study period shall be conducted

each evening of the course; with a minimum of 59 hours private study plus 1 hour GC3. A total of 33 hours shall be covered during the GC2 course. Private study period shall be conducted

each evening of the course; with a minimum of 60 hours private study.

66 Safety Development Unit (SDU) Points under the Continuing Professional Development Programme will be awarded. (Applicable for Singapore Registered Safety Officer)

Distance Learning

Distance learning is best catered for individuals who are unable to commit to full-day classes. Upon enrollment, delegates will receive course materials and assignments either by self-collection or courier (Courier fee applicable depending on location). During the delegate’s self-study period, he/she will have unlimited contact time with KBAT’s expert tutors. There will be assignments to be completed and submitted for assessment and personalised feedback – these assignments however, do not count towards the award. Delegates should conduct his/her study with a schedule and aim to take the examinations within 6 – 12 months of commencing the course.

An interactive and disciplined learning method – the full-time course consists of an intensive and focused 10-day training conducted within two weeks. Training con-sists of lectures, videos, discussions, activities, assign-ments and sharing of professional experiences among dele-gates and trainers. During this period, delegates are guided by our expert trainers who are dedicated to maintain stand-ards of each individual. Only refreshments will be provided. 80 Safety Development Unit (SDU) Points under the Continuing Professional Development Programme will be awarded. Regardless which study mode, after completion of all assignments to a satisfactory standard, delegates may register for the examinations scheduled on global examination dates held in March, June, September and December each year. Examination can be taken at KBAT Singapore or British Council centre worldwide (with local sitting fee). Registration for any examination must be received a minimum of 2 months prior to the examination date.
