Executive Summary:

This is an informative report on Nestle Pakistan Private Limited. In this report we have described the introduction of nestle internationally and in Pakistan. Good food Good life is the principle they always follow. We briefly describe the vision and mission of Nestle Pakistan. We highlights the financial report of first quartered of 2013.Enlist the major competitors of Nestle Pakistan and the market share they have. We have described the complete list of Nestle products in Pakistan and the factories they operate. We basically emphasized on the working or operations of HR department. We described the Nestle Pakistan HR department, HR policy, the recruitment process, training and development, motivation, rewards and benefits, job analysis, and performance appraisal.

Introduction:

Henry Nestle, a pharmacist is the founder of Nestle. It is a Swiss origin thats headquartered is in Vevey, Switzerland. Nestle is a Swiss-German word which means "little nest" which is its trademark. Nestle, the leading food processing company in the world and having about 330,000 employees in over 150 countries. Nestle serves its customer with more than 8000 product around the globe.

Nestle Pakistan:

Nestle Pakistan is a subordinate of Nestle S.A.Nestle operates in Pakistan since 1988 under a joint venture with Milk Pak Ltd. The company is listed on Lahore and Karachi Stock Exchange. For ten years in a row, the company has won a place among the top 25 companies of the Karachi Stock Exchange. Nestle Pakistan ensures that their products are made available to consumers where ever in the country they might be. Convenience is at the heart of the Nestle philosophy, and their aim is to bring products to people's doorstep.

Factories:

Nestle has started their food processing operations in Pakistan since 1988.Its headquartered is in Lahore. There are four production factories In Pakistan. Two factories produce multi items which are in Sheikhupura and Kabirwala near Multan. One is in Islamabad and the fourth one is in Karachi produced bottled water.

Brands:

Each person of any age is the customer of Nestle, because of its wide range of products. Nestle provided more than 8000 products around the globe. Millions of people prefer nestle products every day, happy with the addition to their wellness that they bring.

Human Resource Department:

Nestle Pakistan has the human resource department which dedicated to their employees and ensures that they have all the right people with right skills in a right place at the right time. The mandate of Nestle Pakistan is to enhance their skills with cutting edge training and provide them world standards facilities. They always select the innovative people who have abilities to confront new challenges and make a difference.

Nestle Pakistan offer trainee programs so that talented young men and women achieve their potential in a flexible and dynamic environment.

Nestle Pakistan Human Resource Department is subdivided into three branches:

Shared Services:

Shared services branch is responsible for data and record collecting. This branch collects data and records of all the employees of Nestle Pakistan. This branch handle different type of works including payrolls, division of provident funds, medical allowances, travel allowances, and all other administration of the employee funds.

Centre of Expertise:

The Centre of Expertise is the second branch of Nestle Pakistan Human Resource department which is responsible for recruitments; organization development through Nestles training programs, both local and international.

Business Partners:

The business partners branch creates links between different human resource activities of the organization and the functional departments they are working with.

HR Policy:

It is the HR policy of nestle Pakistan that each employees has a distinct responsibility in dealing with people be it as a leader of a team or as a peer.

Recruitment:

Each year Nestle Pakistan recruited a number of top young graduates who have strong academic qualifications, essential language skills and relevant internships or professional experience.

The recruitment criteria of Nestle Pakistan are that:

Graduation is minimum qualification which is required to work at nestle.Person having high degree of adaptability and mobility.Unquenchable thirst of knowledge.Superb communication skills.The person has ability to assume control anywhere in the world.

Job Analysis:

Job analysis is process use to collect information about the duties, responsibilities, necessary skills, outcomes and work environment for a particular job. Nestle Pakistan effectively analyze the job to prepare a good job description, so that the candidate who is going to apply for a job must well aware about the duties and responsibilities.

Job description:

Job description is a general statement of a specific job which includes duties, purpose, responsibilities, scope, and working conditions of a job along with the job's title, and the name or designation of the person to whom the employee reports. Nestle Pakistan clearly describe the nature of job, so that the candidate who is going to apply must know about the job position, its duties and working conditions.

Job specifications:

Job specifications are a statement of employee characteristics and qualifications required for satisfactory performance of defined duties and tasks comprising a specific job or function. Job specification is derived from job analysis. Nestle Pakistan whenever offer a job, it clearly describe what characteristics is require for a specific job. Normal characteristics which nestle Pakistan require, a person must graduate, having experience, lot of knowledge about the defined duties and super communication skills.

Training Of Employees:

"Learning" is the part of company culture. Every person, whether he/her is fresh or old, is conscious of the need of the upgrade of his/her knowledge and skills. Nestle held event in Pakistan and Switzerland for the training of employees. Nestle Pakistan offer training programs to new employees so that they gain experience not in sales and marketing activities as well as other areas of business. These activities include production, supply chain and information system, finance and control, purchasing, communication and marker research.

Performance Appraisal:

A performance appraisal is a method by which the job performance of an employee is evaluated (generally in terms of quality, quantity, cost, and time) typically by the corresponding manager or supervisor. Nestle is totally depend on quality, and this quality is depend on the performance of its employees, so Nestle quarterly collect information through job analysis to evaluate the performance of its employees. Nestle Pakistan collect information through interview, observation and dairy log.

Interview at Nestle:

When a person submit application for a particular job, the team at nestle analyses it CV and background to measure his/her match against the role profile. Then the person is contacted by one of their recruitment team.

Interview Method:

Nestle Pakistan uses two method for conducting an interview. The one is either by phone or face-to-face interview; depend on the condition or nature of job.

Types of interview:

Selection Interview:

Whenever a person is hired for a specific position, selection interview is taken.

Appraisal Interview:

HR Manager quarterly takes interview to evaluate the employee performance and rate him/her.

Exit Interview:

A exist interview is also taken whenever an employee leave the Nestle Pakistan to take his opinion about whats right and whats wrong about the firm.

Questions in Interview:

While in interview at Nestle the manager asks different types of questions. These questions may include situational interview, behavioral interview or the job related interview.

Nestle is international organization, being an multinational is always great because it is always backed up by the parent company but however Nestle Pakistan is doing best in this region because of the static demand & less portfolio. Nestle management is key success factor of the company they are highly committed & they do not compromise on their tasks. Quality and sustainability is another factor that is giving nestle an edge against its competitors & Nestle Pakistan is at top because of high demand & promising quality they provide.
