Canon has announced the new Canon Powershot SX520 HS and Canon Powershot SX400 IS

super zoom cameras, with the SX520 featuring a 42x optical zoom lens, and the SX400 featuring a 30x optical zoom lens.

Built to help you tackle any situation, the Canon PowerShot SX520 HS’s 42x optical zoom lens is versatile enough to capture all subjects, from unmissable holidays to days out. With a 24mm wide-angle lens, it offers the flexibility to capture sweeping vistas, while an impressive 1008mm maximum focal length lets you zoom in on detail in the distance.

The Canon PowerShot SX520 HS’s improved Zoom Framing Assist Auto mode automatically adjusts the zoom to maintain subjects at a pre-set size within the frame. The camera detects when a subject is close to moving out of the frame and automatically zooms out keeping the subject in frame. It also smoothly pulls back as a subject comes towards the camera to maintain their face at the same size.
