From the Editors desk……..

The Session 2018-19 started with an added enthusiasm of 23 newly

recruited Assistant Professors and one Librarian of the college who joined

the institution during this period.

As an innovative step, a workshop on Music Therapy: Different

Aspects and Its Clinical Applications were organized which provided

opportunity to understand the importance of musical vibrations in

healing mental and physical ailments.

The Changing dynamics of education demands the learners to

acquire new career skills for current socio-economic scenario. Various

interdisciplinary special lectures were organized to empower the students

with awareness to face the future challenges of life. The workshop on

Travel and Tourism, News Writing and Editing enhanced the knowledge

of students regarding its multifarious opportunities.

The number of activities were organized on the theme of Kumbh

Mela and its different social, cultural and economic aspects. The college

continuously endeavor to inculcate feeling of nationalism in the students

by celebrating various days of national importance.

Com Edu Fest, organized by the department of Commerce provided a

platform for the students to participate and benefit from the lectures on

different aspects of financial awareness, Cyber Security and Ethical

Hacking etc.

The College is continuously taking steps to shape the students

according to the need of the presents society.

The Editorial Board has made sincere efforts to cover all the

activities held during the first half of the session. Any omission is

regretted.

Interdisciplinary Special Lectures and Workshops

Music Therapy: Different Aspects and its Clinical Applications

As an innovative approach, a Workshop on Music Therapy: Different Aspects and its Clinical

Applications was jointly organized by Innovation Cell and Dept of Music on 18 Dec, 2018. On this

occasion Prof Sangeeta Pandit, Head, Dept. of Vocal Music, Faculty of Performing Arts, BHU Varanasi,

was the Resource Person. In her deliberation through Power Point, she discussed about the importance of

vibration of music in the healing of mental and physical ailments. She informed that soft and intense

vibrations are used as per the need of the patient. She claimed that it is scientifically proved that every

vibration has colour and when it matches with the chakras of the body, it help in affective cure of the

diseases .She also presented Dadra and Kajri which was applauded by the audience on this occasion. Prof

Hari Dutt Sharma Former, Head Dept of Sanskrit and President Awardee presided over the workshop and

Sri Kalyan Kumar Ghosh, President of Jagat Taran Education Society was the Chief Guest . The

coordinator of the workshop was Dr. Sushma Srivastava and Ms. Sangita Sahgal. The programme was

compered by Dr. Namrata Deb, member of Innovation Cell.

Travel and Tourism

A seven days workshop on Travel and Tourism was organized by the Department of Geography

and Anc. History from Oct. 23 to Oct 31, 2018.

The Objective of the workshop was to provide a platform of various career avenues in the field of

travel and tourism to the students and also develop entrepreneurship in their respective subjects. The

Resource persons delivered lectures on various topics related to travel and tourism.

News Writing and Editing A five days workshop on News writing and Editing was organized by the Dept. of Hindi from

Nov 26 to Nov 30, 2018.

Shri Abhilash Narayan in the inaugural session addressed the students on the history and

development of News writing and Editing. Prof. Dhananjay Chopra addressing the students

made them aware about the use of modern Information and Communication Technique in news

writing. Prof. Santosh Bhadoria said the news writing play important role in today’s world.

23 volunteers were enrolled . The adopted village was AATA (Phulpur) The volunteers did survey at AATA village and rendered voluntary service for clean toilets. The Gram Panchayat ,Sri Jagat Patel suggested that 100 toilets were made and more were under construction. The volunteers also made the students of the village school aware of swachha bharat scheme.
