BENJAMIN FRANKLIN'S WARNING thas soon as people learn they can vote themselvesmoney from the treasury, it will signal the end of our republic.

This warning resonates again and again as wewatch our freedoms dissipate under the current

administration and its ruthless treatment of ourethical framework, and our laws. People oftenwonder, sometime piously, how it is that tyrannyoccurs.

We like to think the populations victimized weresomehow less savvy, more gullible, or asleep atthe wheel. We think ourselves better somehow, and that it could never happen here. Everygeneration that has fallen to tyranny has believedthe same comforting fable. They only learn thatthey, too, were susceptible to tyranny when it istoo late.

    John Galt Calling - Had Enough? b y D oug P a t t on

"They believe in free stuff. We believe in free people." - U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisconsin, 2012 vicepresidential nominee

When I heard Congressman Ryan utter those words during his speech to the Republican NationalConvention in Tampa last summer, I thought they would define the 2012 race for the White House. Nostatement so clearly describes the deep division between the earners and the takers in this country as westand on the uneasy precipice of another Obama term. As we all try to analyze the election results, itappears that "free stuff" won big.

More than half a century ago, author Ayn Rand one of Paul Ryan's social and political inspirations saw the dangers of socialism in America. In her 1,100-page opus, "Alas Shrugged," she prescientlypredicted the direction of the country and the consequences inherent in that course. The book tells thestory of how her protagonist, John Galt, has had enough of the leaches who will not work and the

bureaucrats who cater to them. Galt recruits the brightest, most productive members of society to go onstrike in order to deprive the nation's parasites of the support they need to continue redistributing wealththey did not earn.

Now that Obama has won a second four-year term to continue his leftist agenda, one has to wonder justhow many of the people who actually pay the bills in this country intend to "go John Galt." I personallyknow a few.

A doctor in Nebraska has been telling his patients that he intends to close his practice and leave thecountry if Obama is re-elected. Obamacare, he says, will destroy his practice, and he has no intentions of working for the government. It appears that he has not been uttering idle threats. He has purchasedproperty in another country and he really plans to leave.

An executive for a major Midwestern corporation, which recently merged with a similar firm in a larger city, has been contemplating relocation in order to continue working for the company that has employed her formore than three decades. Obama's re-election has finalized her decision.

"I'm done," she says at the peak of her career. "There's no way I'm going back to this level of work andstress and taxation. I'm going Galt. Elections have consequences. I'm over it. You'd be surprised howcheaply I can live. They can tax somebody else."

The owner of a Japanese restaurant tells one of his employees, who supported Obama, "If he wins, youwill lose your job." It is not a threat. He simply knows what is coming.

The owner of a picture framing gallery, who has struggled to keep her business afloat for the past threeyears, will close her doors by the end of this year. The final, deciding factor for her was the result of thispresidential election. "No one even has the money to pick up the work I've already framed for them," shelaments, "and it's only going to get worse. I'm not working this hard for nothing."

A salesman approaching his 65th birthday, who planned to wait until age 66 to file for Social Security, iscontemplating filing early. "My intention was to wait another year so that I wouldn't be penalized forworking and earning more than the allowed amount of $14,400 per year," he says. "But with rising gasprices, regulations and taxes under Obama, I might as well do the minimum and live off the governmentdole like half the country already is."

Barack Obama has already done great damage to this country. He will do much more damage over thenext four years. Whether America's producers will continue to stand for it remains to be seen.

In his gracious concession speech on election night, Mitt Romney appealed to business owners andentrepreneurs. "We look to job-creators of all kinds," he said. "We're counting on you to invest, to hire, tostep forward..."

Perhaps they will, but if they do, it will be in spite of Barack Obama, certainly not because of him.

    T HE GOP P ROBLEM

Seeking answers to why their presidential candidate lost the election, the first round of consensus on theright has focused on the Republican need to recalibrate its message to connect with the nation's shiftingvoting demographics or, at the very least, acknowledge that the country is changing.

I must say "DUH!!" The GOP gave away the 2008 election and now the 2012 with the same comedy of errors. NO DEFINITION OF PARTY. The aisle-crossing McCain actually made some of the base simply stayhome. This year's pseudo-conservative Romney lost the conservative base before he started.

A social media post said the changingdemographics means trouble for the GOP.Problems for a political party? The breakout of "African-American," "Latino-American," and "Asian-

American" voters who selected Obama meansproblems for the country!

People cast votes because of race, or because theywant something from an unprincipledcandidate!??! The 18-29 vote is important to acampaign, but the mindset of young people is bestdescribed by Churchill -- (paraphrased) if you areolder and not conservative, you are stupid! I do

not get the male vs female vote, unless there is an educational divide. Perhaps there is a preponderance of single-Moms out there looking for a 2nd alimony check from Uncle Sam.

The trouble for the nation is that this election was not won on the economy or foreign policy or integrityregarding the military. This election spells the death knell of a Republic. One pundit wrote: "I think allthose Obama constituents should leave America and form their own country. Libya might be a good place.A nice Muslim location with no constitution to ignore."

For the GOP to survive it must determine and stick to defined core principles. Failing that, the GOP can bedescribed as Democrat-Lite.

This election has proven a point I read in an article some months back. The article dealt with criticalmass and explained the progressives have worked on this for years, even in the twenties. Manywere hippies years ago and now we see them in institutions of learning (higher and lower) incommunity offices, in charity organizations and other organizations that are helping while spreadingtheir word. They have reached critical mass in our population and have swayed so many to believethat government can do it all for you. Once critical mass is reached...it's impossible to win for us.We let it happen.

The problem with people today and the study of history is that they read it with the eyes and judgment of the 21st century norms and mores instead of taking themselves back in time and evaluating a historicalsituation using the norms and mores of that time period.

To do the latter is much more difficult and takes much more effort on the part of the student. As a result, historical events become distorted and purposes that might have seemed legitimate at that time ororiginating from good intentions are now condemned by the ever critical eyes of today. Rest assured thatour future descendants will probably do the same with our current events which will be their history. Andour motives that we deem pure and honorable will be distorted by their norms and mores.

In addition to this is the fact that there are two sides to each historical event and therefore two "lenses"with which to view the event.... Our history books are traditionally written by the winner... but rememberthat does not make the winner's version more "true" or more "right" than that of the loser.... Try to take inthe big picture and look at all sides of the situation and look at the unemotional facts and data. You will beamazed at what you can learn.

Tuesday was the siege of Charleston.

    Published by: R OBERT LAURIE

We re better than the crybaby routine

On April 2 nd, British Lieutenant General Sir Henry Clinton led an overwhelming force as it lay siege to thecity of Charleston, South Carolina. The ensuing violence lasted 40 days. When it was over, 5,200Continental troops had been captured, 92 were killed, and 148 were wounded. The city was lost. It would

go down in history as the worst U.S. defeat of the Revolutionary War.As news of the loss spread, Americans complained that war was hard, there was no way to win, and thatLiberty just wasn t worth the hassle. So, they surrendered and we remain English to this day.

Oh wait that s not what happened, is it.

No. They licked their wounds, put on their big boy pants, and took it to the Brits with such fury that, acouple of years later, the enemy signed the Treaty of Paris.

For conservatives, Election Night was the siege of Charleston.

Unfortunately, for the last two days, the whiners have taken over the narrative. Instead of getting angry, the people who should be fighting the hardest are moping around feeling sorry for themselves.

America is doomed, They say. We ve lost it all. In four years you won t recognize the place. We ve beebeaten by Mad King Obama!

Please, just stop. We're better than this.

Believe me when I tell you that I understand the sting of losing. We all do. As I POINTED OUT YESTERDAY , ThUnited States finds itself in a dangerous spot, on very shaky footing. The country, as we know and love it,took a very hard hit Tuesday.

With that as a starting point, the fact that our constitutional ideals have become harder to defend does notmean we stop trying. Yes, because of Obama s re-election he has four more years to try and stamp us out.He s made it quite clear that the Constitution is an obstacle, and there s no doubt he ll attempt to weaselhis way around it at every opportunity.

However, if we simply sit back and ring our hands rather than fight, he ll have free reign. If we weren twilling to give that to him on Monday, why are so many ready to admit defeat and hand it over now?

Somehow, conservatives got it into their heads that Election Night was going to be our last battle. Wewere going to win, liberalism would go away, and we d be a nation of strict constructionists.

That was never the case. If you thought so, you were really kidding yourselves. This fight never ends, andit would have been no different had Romney been elected.

Now, we can do one of two things. Either we run away with our tails between our legs, or we fight likewe ve been backed into a corner. Personally, I ve never been big on the whole whipped dog routine, so choose to fight.

You want to give up? Fine. The rest of us will carry on without you.

If you re tough enough to keep going, cut the crybaby act and saddle up. We have work to do.

How We Have ChangedBack in the day the prevailing method of securing loyalty was through 40 acres and a mule.

It was a means by which the individual could support himself and his family. It was an honorable "handup" rather than a hand out. Political though it was, the economy of post-war South was in shambles.

Today we again have an economy in shambles. Many millions are out of work. Many multi-income familiesare barely meeting the basics of food, clothing and shelter. The 40 acres and a mule concept would be ablessing both graciously and thankfully accepted.

Yet in 2012 we have a different modus operandi that works like a charm. It is called Free Stuff.

Healthcare, telephones, Food Stamps, never-ending unemployment benefits, US Citizenship, open borders... you name it.

The problem is that the dirt farmer of 1865 wanted to earn his own way. It was all about personal dignity.Today there is no incentive to do for yourself, no discussion (or heritage) of personal dignity. ThomasPaine wrote, "What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thingits value."

People are fired-up on Facebook. More than likely you fall into two groups today:

a.) You are either angry or disappointed that your presidential candidate lost last night, or

b.) Elated and relieved that your candidate was re-elected.

Readers, this election wasn't just about Obama vs. Romney. Leadership, innovation and bipartisanshipneed to happen at the local and state levels, too. Local office holders affect your day-to-day life more thandecisions made by the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. You owe it to yourself to learnabout local politicians and how they represent your voice.

I'd venture to say that most of you can probably name at least one federal senator from Georgia, and I amsure there are plenty who can name their congressman. I doubt, though, that many can name their countycommissioner or city council representative. And that s a shame.

County commissioners, city council members, and school board representatives can make or break our daywith the simplest of motions. Decisions regarding our roads, schools, taxes, crime, neighborhoods and oureconomy as a whole are made more frequently at the local level than anywhere else.

Don't like the parking situation in downtown McDonough? The president can't help you. Concerned aboutvacant storefronts? Don't email the president about that. Want a traffic light at a busy intersection? The

    president has more important concerns.

You must become as passionate about local politics as you are about national politics. And you must voteeven when the president isn't on the ballot. You as a voter have much more influence with your localgovernment.

Yeah, that means paying attention to what s going on, and that can be time consuming. But hey, whoeversaid democracy was easy?

Local elections often fall victim to low voter turnout as a result of either public ignorance or simplecomplacency. In many ways, those local elections are just as important or more important as theelections that determine our next president. The person who becomes sheriff, mayor, a school boardmember or council woman will play a crucial role in our daily quality of life.

And you must get to know them. Just because they show-up to have their picture made at local eventsdoesn't necessarily mean they are looking out for you. You must see them in action. That means attendingcommission meetings, city council sessions, and school board meetings. You can't rely on the media orbloggers to tell you what is important. Oftentimes, you can't even depend on the minutes recorded fromthese meetings because that does not tell you the temperament in the room, body language, or who was

Mourning in AmericaHere's Those Layoffs We Voted For

By R USTY W EI SS

Last [Tuesday s] victory for the President marks the first time sinceits inception that Obamacare is no longer a what-if; it is the futureof health care in America.

It also means a near immediate impact on the economy. With 20or so new or HI GHER TAXES set to be implemented, ranging from a$123 billion surtax on investment income, through the $20 billionmedical device tax, all the way down to the $600 million executive

compensation limit, Obamacare will be a nearly unbearable TAXBURDEN on the economy.

Who will pay? The middle-class workforce, of course.

So with another four years for President Obama to look forward to, and the obvious inevitability of Obamacare that this entails, let's examine the very real jobs that will be lost, and the very real lives thatwill be affected.

    Dana Holding Corp.

As recently as a week ago, a global auto parts manufacturing company in Ohio known as Dana HoldingCorp., warned their employees of potential layoffs, citing "$24 million over the next six years in additionalU.S. health care expenses". The company will have to cover the additional $24 million cost somehow, which will likely equate to numerous cuts in their current workforce of 25,500 worldwide.

    Stryker

One of the biggest medical device manufacturers in the world, Stryker will close their facility in OrchardPark, New York, eliminating 96 jobs in December. Worse, they plan on countering the medical device tax

in Obamacare by slashing 5% of their GLOBAL WORKFORCE- an estimated 1,170 positions.

    Bost on Scienti fi c

In October of 2009, Boston Scientific CEO Ray Elliott, w arned that proposed taxes in the health carereform bill could "lead to significant job losses" for his company. Nearly two years later, Elliott announcedthat the company w ould be cutt ing anywhere between 1,200 and 1,400 jobs, while simultaneouslyshifting investments and workers overseas - to China.

    Medtronic

In March of 2010, medical device maker MEDTRONIC WARNED that Obamacare taxes could result in areduction of precisely 1,000 jobs. That plan became reality when the company cut 500 positions over thesummer, with another 500 set for the end of 2013.

    Others

A SHORT LI ST of other companies facing future layoffs at the hands of Obamacare:

    Smith & Nephew - 770 layoffs Abbott Labs - 700 layoffs Covidien - 595 layoffs

Kinetic Concepts - 427 layoffs St. Jude Medical - 300 layoffs Hill Rom - 200 layoffs

Beyond the complete elimination of a significant number of American jobs is another looming problemcreated by the health care law - a shift from full-time to part-time workers.

A JP Morgan economist "points out that 8.3 million people are working in part-time jobs eventhough they'd prefer full-time work. Unfortunately, because of President Obama s health care law,the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), workers in the hotel, restaurant, and retailindustries could be pushed into part-time jobs working less than 30 hours per week."

"Under the health care law, if a company has more than 50 full time equivalent workers, acombination of full and part-time employees, but doesn t offer affordable coverage that meets thegovernment s minimum value standard, the company will have to pay a penalty. This penalt y isdeterm ined by the number of full-t ime employees minus 30 full-time employees. So toreiterate a very important point: part -t ime w orkers are not part of t he penalty formula . Thhealth care law creates a perverse incentive to hire part-time versus full-time workers."

Tangible examples of Obamacare causing a reduction in full-time workers:

    Darden Restaurants

According to the Orlando Sentinel, D ARDENR ESTAURANTS, a casual dining chain best known for their RedLobster, Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants, is "experimenting with limiting the hours of some of its workers to avoid health care requirements under the Affordable Care Act when they take effectin 2014".

    JANCOA Janitorial Services

The CEO of JANCOA, Mary Miller, testified to Congress THAT OBAMACARE w as a "dr eam k iller", addingthat one option she had to consider "is reducing the majority of my team members to part-timeemployment in order to reduce the amount that I will be penalized."

    Kroger

The American retailer in Cincinnati, Ohio recently was reported to be planning a significant slashing of theirhourly workers. DOUG R OSS writes:

Operative Faith (a mid-level manager with the company) reveals that Kroger will soon join the ranksof Darden Restaurants and slash the hours of its non-exempt (hourly) workers to avoid millions inObamacare penalties.

According to the source, Obamacare could result in tens of thousands of Kroger employees being limited toworking 28 hours per week.

    Summary

This is by no means, meant to be an exhaustive list. But it is meant to provide examples of real

companies, real jobs, and real names, soon to be added to the growing list of employment casualtiesprovided by the inevitable implementation of Obamacare.

Last [Tuesday], America voted for four more years of President Obama and his destructive economic andhealth care policies. By extension, America last night voted their approval of the aforementioned layoffsand overall work reduction.

Now we must accept the inevitable. Welcome to mourning in America.

Obama Lost in Every State with a Voter Photo-ID Law

Was the election stolen? Remember all those lawsuits by Democrats demanding that any voteridentification laws be repealed? Well, now we know why they filed them. They needed to steal the vote incertain key states so that Obama could be reelected.

Curiously, Obama lost in every state that requires a photo ID to be produced before voting. A list of closelycontested state elections with no voter ID, which narrowly went to Obama include: Minnesota (10), Iowa(6), Wisconsin (10), Nevada (6), Colorado (9), New Mexico (5) and Pennsylvania (20).

This amounts to a total of 66 electoral votes. When added to Romney s total of 205 electoral votes, thatwould give Romney 271 electoral votes, enough votes to win even without Ohio or Florida Romney alsolikely had the states of Florida and Ohio stolen from him, which don t require photo IDs.

Ohio requires a non-photo ID. Would a library card do? Florida requests a photo ID, but doesn t requireit. So what happens if they request a photo ID and the illegal alien Haitian doesn t have one? Do they justcount the vote anyway?

WASHINGTON, DC Sources confirmed today that hundreds of thousands of military absentee ballots were delivered hours after the deadline for them tobe counted, with preliminary counts showing that they would have overturnedthe vote in several states and brought a victory for Governor MI TT ROMNEY

Officials say the ballots were delivered late due to problems within the militarymail system. Tracking invoices show the ballots sat in a warehouse for a month, then they wereaccidentally labeled as ammunition and shipped to Afghanistan. At Camp Dwyer, Marine Sergeant JohnDavis signed for them and was surprised at the contents.

I told Gunny we got a bunch of ballots instead of ammo, Davis told investigators earlier today. He told

me to file a report of improper delivery and that the chain of command would take care of it. We didn thear anything for three weeks. While we were waiting we came under fire so we dumped a bunch of themin the Hescoes. We didn t dig those ones back out.

After military officials realized the initial error, the ballots were then sent back to the U.S. but suffered aseries of setbacks.

Twelve boxes of ballots were dropped overboard during delivery to the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) in thePersian Gulf, then while the ship sailed to Bahrain, postal clerks allegedly pocketed whatever ballots theywanted.

The remaining absentee ballots were loaded onto a C-130, but the flight was delayed until November 1stso the crew could get tax free pay for the month. Once the ballots arrived stateside they were promptlymailed to each state s counting facility, reaching their final destination on November 7th.

It s a shame, Rear Admiral John Dawes said when asked for comment. I expected a delay so I orderedthat everyone cast their votes eight months ago. It s really unfortunate that our mail system failed us anddirectly affected the course of history.

Upon hearing the news, angry Republicans have begun a demand for a recount, but most militaryabsentee voters have shrugged off the news, with many wondering whether the care packages theirfamilies sent six months ago were ever going to show up.

NULLI FI CATI ONW E (CON SERVATIVES) NO W HAVE 60% OF THE GOVERNO RS ON OU R SIDE. IF THEY WTOGETHER AND NU LLIFY OBAM ACARE, AN D OTHER STUPID BILLS, W E CAN DEFEAT OTHIS THE PURPOSE OF THE TENTH A M ENDM ENT?

The best solution for Georgia is for the General Assembly to take the proposed constitutional amendmenton nullification from the 2010 session and simply enact it as a bill in the legislature instead of proposing itas a constitutional amendment. Had they done this in 2010, it would have passed since the 2/3 majority isonly needed for proposed constitutional amendments.

Putting individual items on the ballot as proposed constitutional amendments was improper in the firstplace. Only items which would change our form of government should be "constitutionalamendments." And, more importantly, the state legislature was simply "passing the buck" in responsibilityby sending it to the voters instead of doing the job for which they were elected... which is voting on thesetypes of bills themselves. EVERY single bill of nullification by a state in American history was passed as abill by the legislature NOT by the general electorate as a proposed constitutional amendment, so obviouslythe precedent exists for the legislature to do it themselves.

The second thing that should be done is that Gov. Deal can use interposition and simply announce thatObamacare is unconstitutional because it does not lie within Congress' jurisdiction according to Art. I Sec 8of the united States Constitution and, therefore, as the chief executive of Georgia, it is his obligation under

his oath or affirmation of office to prevent it from being enforced in Georgia. This is an example of "interposition" and it is his responsibility to do so since he took an oath to uphold by the constitution of Georgia and these united States.

Both of these things should be done in unison but either is sufficient by itself legally to stop Obamacarefrom being implemented in Georgia.

I will fight for my freedom and the survival of my family and my nation because I think God will honorthat. The once great nation that we grew up in NO LONGER EXIST...it died with the election of someonewho does not believe in the American value was elected BUT lets face it She has been sick for a long time. All that to say enjoy it while you are able and when the come for you and they come for me. And they willcome, they have to in order to take from us to give to those who gave them the power....you can fight thegood fight and if you know Christ then you can be out of here and leave the mess to them. For a large, large number of Americans ....IT IS NOW THE BEST THEY WILL EVER HAVE.

God being the gracious God that he is GAVE/ALLOWED America to have just what she asked for. Not allbut the majority, and rest assured that they will before it s over consume each other because those thatproduce will no longer be producing.

I have been in mourning. I have spent three days grieving over the Old America. I will be ok though for Iam still an American in the New America, and I still have God s Word as my guide. However, afterevaluating all things, I am seeing the re-election of President Obama as coming from the followingperspective:

*Non-Americanism. We have raised a generation that has not been integrated into an American ideologyof work hard, grab every opportunity, don t quit, dream big, and help thy neighbor.

*Our founding fathers could have never conceived the technology infiltration that we deal with so as to

prepare for it in our constitution. Large masses of Americans cannot sustain the single-minded focus themedia forces on them during the election process which has rendered them unable to search out facts, analyze, and draw their own conclusions.

*Rather than choosing integrity and the best for everyone, many Americans have realized that they canhave what they covet - not by hard work but by voting for the man that gives the most stuff.

*Our borders have brought in - en masse, people that come from many generations of government-helpedsocieties thereby following their cultural training they automatically choose a leader that will continue theircomfort zones by making decisions for them and handing over their share.

*Many in leadership, having lead by example, have caused society to judge the success and theconsequence based on the size of the cover-up.

*In four years our Community Organizer has taken American society back into the divisive culture of hating, coveting and ridiculing - race, success, work, truth, integrity, and religious beliefs.

*Our society now, by a greater percentage reaches conclusions based on feelings and immediategratification with no understanding or care for future consequences.

It has been a good 236 years and though I am now the minority, I will, along with other hard-working,patriotic Americans continue to live and stand on my beliefs in truth, integrity, God and the old country. This is the New America. This is not fatalism, this is assess and adjust. And I will.

Obama: Wealthy must see higher taxes under plan. Obama says he will refuse to accept any approach that"isn't balanced."

HEY OBAMA, Balance and Redistribute until you have completely socialized MY COUNTY. See how many of our wealthiest citizens keep their resources within your reach!

The only people you w ill af fect is the Ameri can Middl e Class.

AMBER MCMEANS commented: That is the thing that I most fear. The high income people can hide and

move their money elsewhere. The low income/no income earners will receive help/welfare from thegovernment. The middle class is going to have to cover the majority for everyone. I am so concernedabout my family and friends, it breaks my heart. I truly hope this does not happen and hope I never haveto say "I told you". My vote for Romney was my voice to improve the economy.
