Newsletter January 2017

Welcome to 2017!!

It’s that time of year to consider new resolutions. We want to change various aspects of our lives that we feel don’t reflect us and come up with new ideas for living. Scroll through these for inspiration on how to improve your life this year.

• Start a new beading project with a new stitch.• Plan a trip to a bead retreat.• Create an evening beading ritual to help you wind down

at the end of the day.• Meditate about beads.• Declutter your home and your beading space.• Stop procrastinating about that difficult beading project

once and for all.• Take control of your finances so you can spend more

money on beads.• Drink more champagne while you bead (it’s good for

your health).• Start a beading passon project. You never know where it

will lead!• Do a beading stitch you’ve never done before.• Take care of yourself. You can never underestimate “me

time” and “bead time.”• Buy more beads.

I have so much to be grateful for. I want to thank Joanie Whitehead for guiding me gently as I stumbed through my first year as President. Her staying on the Board has been so helpful to me.

Janice Lynn has been outstanding over the past years. She has missed so much beading time as she patiently did her duties as Treasurer. I’ve never heard her complain. She is such a hard worker and we couldn’t function as an organization without her.

I also appreciate each of our board members. I know they all work hard giving up personal time to attend board meetings and also the unseen work: calling and emailing to make sure everything goes smoothly in both our meetings and our other activities.

I also want to thank all of our members. I love the Dallas Bead Society and appreciate the trust you place in me to guide our activities through this next year. Please let me know how I can better serve you.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our meeting on January 7.

Gina Witlock, President

From the President’s Corner
