My hometown is situated in the North-East of the Khabarovsky Krai, on the great Russian river of Amur.

Nikolaevsk-on-Amur was founded by Russian explore G. Nevelskoy in August 1850.

The town was named after Russian Tsar Nikolay.

In 1865 it became economical and political center of the Far East, but in the 1880 the administrative center was transferred to Khabarovsk, and many people left Nikolaevsk.

It was one of the first towns in the Far East.

In 1926 it was declared the region town.

It is a small town and stretches for over 15km from north to south.

Now Nikolaevsk has the population of 40 thousand.

People are friendly and hospitable.
