English Language [New Syllabus 1128] Paper 1: Writing Section A (Editing): Identification and correction of grammatical errors. Section B (Situational Writing): With reference to a visual stimulus, write a text to suit the purpose, audience and context. Section C (Continuous Writing): Text types such as narrative, personal recount, descriptive, expository and argumentative. Paper 2: Reading comprehension questions and 1 summary question based on three texts (i.e. visual, narrative and non-narrative). Paper 3: When listening and viewing, recognising voice qualities, identifying main ideas and details, making predictions and making inferences. Paper 4: Oral Communication This paper is assessed in April. A letter to parents is given to the students a week before the oral examination. It provides the details on the oral examination schedule.
