Varanasi & Sarnath – 2 daysInfo• Varanasi also known as Benaras• Religious site for Hindu’s, Buddhists, and jain’s• On the bank of the Ganges

Why are we going there?• Visit the deer park where the Buddha first taught the Dharma.• Visit Banaras Hindu University where Bante spent some time

Sravasti – 2 daysInfo• One of the largest cities in India during the Buddha’s lifetime

Why are we going there?• The Buddha spent much of his life in Sravasti at the Jeta Grove• Also includes Stupa of Angulimala and some of the Buddha’s chief disciples

Lumbini – 1 dayInfo• In Nepal• Is a world heritage site• Includes a monastic zone

Why are we going there?• The Buddha grew up in Kapilavastu , 10k from Lumbini• The Buddha was born in Lumbini• Is an Ashoka pillar here
