Huddleston hustles to student of the month. Ja-don Huddleston, high school junior, was selected as October student of the month. Jadon is the son of Jason and Nikki Huddle-ston.
In his free time, he does his homework and studies for tests. He also goes fish-ing and shoots hoops with his friends. Jadon hopes to pursue a medical career af-ter high school.
When fhe ound out he was student of the month, his reaction was “I feel amazed, I could not believe I got it.” Jadon is a very hardworking
student and never stops trying.
When GP stu-dents were asked why they thought Ja-don deserved to be student of the month, Clayton White, high school senior said, “He re-spects his teachers and other students around him. He is al-so a great friend and will always drop what he is doing just to help you.”
Nathan Wal-ston, high school jun-ior, said “He is hard-working and always gets good grades.”
Kaylie Scog-gins, high school jun-ior, added, “He al-ways ask what the homework is, be-cause he wants to make sure he does not miss anything.”
Jadon’s advice to other students who want to be student of the month is, “Always try your hardest at everything. Hard work pays off. Al-ways try to be a better person than you were yester-day.
To the freshmen, cherish every mo-ment you have here, make mem-ories and friends. Before you know it high school will be gone in a blink of an eye. Always try to be involved in extracurricular ac-tivities as much as you can.
Always be re-spectful to your peers and espe-cially your teach-ers; you will need

Mrs. Bingham and the Golden Apple Award
By: Paige Syrcle
Recently, Kristine Bing-
ham, teacher at GP, won
the WGEM Golden Apple
Award. Bingham teaches
fourth grade and has been
a teacher for many years
and she also sponsors the
cheerleading squad.
When we asked her how
she felt about winning she
said ”I feel very honored
and very surprised.” Mrs.
Bingham has been battling
cancer so she had to find
out how to manage that and
to teach at the same time.
She feels she won this
award because ”it was the
fight through cancer but
I missed very little days at
the school. She missed very
little days because the kids
needed her here and she
needed to think about some-
thing else besides cancer.
She felt that her students
were very happy and excited
that she won this award.”
Jeff Bourne, Principal at
them one of these days. Last, always be the bigger per-son.”
GP, added, “I’m very
proud and happy of her.
She's been teaching at
this school for a long time
because she is great at
her job.”
Bourne said “I believe
she got this award due to
her commitment for her
students and the
Griggsville-Perry School.”

Getting Spooky: Haunted House Review
By: Kaylie Scoggins
There are things
bumpin, jumpin,
twistin, turnin, and
screamin. One of the
most lit haunted houses
near Pike County is in
Hannibal, Jaycees: The
Warehouse of Night-
mares.
As soon as you
walk in the park you
see tons of people...and
clowns. The clowns
will come up to you
and try to get you in
the haunted house
mood. It costs $10 a
person and it is every
Friday and Saturday in
October.
After the 30
minute long wait in
line the anticipation
is high. Everyone is
ready to have people
scream in their fac-
es.
When you
first walk in you
have 3 seconds to
find the right door to
move onto the next
room. After that, you
walk to find your
way in the dark.
You go
through several
rooms before you
come to hallway
where the walls are
closing in. If you
are claustrophobic
then I do not recom-
mend this.
This is a tre-
mendous haunted
house. It is truly
scary, not cheesy. I
recommend it to an-
yone who wants a
scare.

Teen Wolf comes

its arrival also
comes the end, as it
is the final season.
Fans have been
waiting for Teen
Wolf to come back

months.
In Season 6, viewers are going to face many heartbreaking challenges. Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) has to face the problem of being erased from history. Oh No!! We also have the arrival of some
new villains in the town Beacon Hills. Over the course of 20 episodes, we will see how the group of friends stick to-gether to save each other, and them-selves. As an invested fan, I am literally heart broken that this is the last season. This is my all-time favor-ite show, as many already know. I have no idea what I am going to do with my Tuesday nights when the season ends.

Pledge comes to GP
In past years the Griggsville Perry staff has discussed about bringing back the pledge to G-P and it fi-nally came back this week! Cathy McDaniel, Secre-tary, said, “Mr. Bourne told me that we were going to bring it back”.
She also said “that they will put it over the inter-com and the helpers in the office and the staff will be saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mr. Bourne, Principal, said, “It was brought to my attention that almost every school does it so we should also.” When asked how it would be organized, Bourne said the office

staff will organize it by hav-ing the pledge and then having the announcements after the tardy bell.
A difficulty that con-cerns Bourne is having the teachers and staff turn in the announcements before 8:15 a.m. Although saying the pledge will at least cut into about five to ten minutes of first hour it is for a good reason.
