Information About Oceans

• Over 70% of the Earth is made upof oceans.

• The oceans contain 97% of Earth’swater supply.

• Oceans are home to a greatdiversity of life; including plant life,mammals, fish, reptiles, and invertebrates.

OceansThere are five oceans:

Arctic IndianPacific SouthernAtlantic

The largest ocean is the Pacific Ocean. The Pacific also has the deepest trench, the Mariana Trench. The smallest is the Arctic Ocean.

The Southern Ocean is our newest ocean. It was recognized as an ocean in 2000.
