S eaview location Octopus bay is a small private location that situates on north coast of the

island in east of Palelonio in a private penisula. All area have a view to the sea and also has

a rocky coast full of unique caves up to the waterfront.

As the nearest sandy beach locates in your own plot the Octopus bay is a small pictresque

nature resort, which has a locally known beach tavera Ombrgialos, that is open in summer as it

is situated in the furthest part of your bay.

The closest and the second largest city of Crete and the capital of the Chania peripheral unit Chania is

a 25-minute and Chania airport is a 35-minute drive from Octopus bay. The scenic town Rethymno is 30

kilometers away from the the village.

The village enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with sunny dry summers and mild rainy winters.

During the summer period, clear-sky weather is almost an everyday feature. The atmosphere is always

warm. Thanks to the blowing winds from northern directions, as they pleasantly moderate the condi-

mountain walking club (Greek Mountaineering Club

licence to produce olive oil in 1829. The

oil mills was built in 1860.

Today it is headed by prior Dorotheos

who has worked hard - and still does -

to renovate the old monastery.

The Octopus bay is situated in an

area which is perfect for touring and

exploring the beautiful Island of Crete.

For walkers there are many gorges to

explore including the famous 17 km

Samaria gorge, along with many other

stunning walks. The White Mountains,

which have snow in the Winter which

can still be seen in Spring is also

certainly worth a visit.

Kefalas the local village is a 20 min

walk or 4 min drive. Vamos, a very

pretty village which has a couple of

traditional Greek tavernas, serving good

if slightly more basic food, often from

the barbeque, a bakery and bank also

market, that sells local meat, cheese

and bread. Many of them have a great

deal of knowledge of the people and

places are always pleased to help..

Heraklion is a 2 hour drive.

As you’ve gathered, there is no beach

but you can sunbathe around the rocks

and swim from here. No one seems to

bother – but many people swim in the

beautiful clear blue sea. It’s a fantastic

place to spend some quality time.
