Introduction

The RT207 supports all mainstream 1D and standard 2D barcode symbologies (e.g., PDF417, QR Code

M1/M2/Micro and DataMatrix) as well as GS1-DataBarTM(RSS) (Limited/Stacked/Expanded versions). It

canreadbarcodesonvirtuallyanymedium-paper,plasticcard,mobilephonesandLCDdisplays.

This compact, lightweightengine fitseasily intoeven themost space-constrainedequipmentsuchasdata

collectors,meterreaders,ticketvalidatorsandPDAs.

Thisguideprovidesprogramming instructions for theRT207.Userscanconfigure theRT207byscanning

theprogrammingbarcodesincludedinthismanual.

The RT207 has been properly configured formost applications and can be put into use without further

configuration. Usersmay check the Factory Defaults Table inAppendix for reference. Throughout the

BarcodeScanning

Powered by area-imaging technology and RTscan new technology, the RT207 features fast scanning and

accurate decoding. Barcodes rotated at any angle can still be read with ease.When scanning a barcode,

simplycentertheaimingbeamorpatternprojectedbytheRT207overthebarcode.

BarcodeProgramming

Scanning theEnter Setup barcode can enable the engine to enter the setupmode. Then you can scan a

numberof programmingbarcodes to configure your engine.To exit the setupmode, scan theExit Setup

barcode.

Iftheenginehasexitedthesetupmode,onlysomespecialprogrammingbarcodes,suchastheEnterSetup

barcodeandRestoreAllFactoryDefaultsbarcode,canberead.

The RT207 provides a TTL-232 interface and a USB interface (optional) to communicate with the host

device. The host device can receive scanned data and send commands to control the engine or to

access/altertheconfigurationinformationoftheengineviatheinterface.

Serialcommunicationinterfaceisusuallyusedwhenconnectingtheenginetoahostdevice(likePC,POS).

However, to ensure smooth communication and accuracy of data, you need to set communication

parameters(includingbaudrate,paritycheck,databitandstopbit)tomatchthehostdevice.
