OLYMPIC ATHLETE BIOBOARD PROJECT

CLIFF 7TH GRADE PHYSICAL EDUCATION

ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES:

The 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games are right around the corner! The Olympic Games will

run from July 27-August 12 and the Paralympic Games will take place August 29-September 9. Your

Physical Education Project assignment is to create a BIOBOARD featuring an Olympic Athlete (past or

present). Use the squares provided in each element to check your completion as you progress.

Each major element listed below is worth 10 points for a total of 40 points possible.

Bioboards must include the following:

Information about the athlete (10 PTS):

Title (Name of Athlete)

Country the athlete represents

Olympic sport the athlete plays

General personal information (born; residence; education; family information; unique facts)

Year(s) /location(s) in the Olympics

Medals won in the Olympics and records tied/set

Prior athletic experience (high school, college, other)

Post Olympic experience (pro information)

Information about the sport the athlete plays (10 PTS):

How to play the sport

Diagram of playing field

Equipment used

Olympic records in the sport

When the sport was introduced into the Olympics

How many calories does this sport burn (use a separate “did you know…” box)

Bioboard cardstock/ Neatness – Follow layout; decorate; visually appealing

Bibliography – Provide all sources including websites, magazines, and books used. Your bibliography

will be attached to the BACK of the bioboard.

Word Processed – All information must be word-processed

Titles and Captions – Each artifact needs to have a title and each picture needs one sentence narrative

of the picture.

Grammatically correct – Bioboards should be free of typographical and grammatical errors.
