The one minutes manager is a simple compilation of what many wise people have taught us

and what we have learned ourselves , recognizing the importance of these sources of wisdom also the people who work with , will look at you as one of their sources of wisdom

One Minute Goal Setting One Minute Praising One Minute Reprimand

One Minute Goal Setting is the first one and the foundation for one minute management

Description : one minute manager always makes clear goals , and the responsibility of his

subordinates , and what they are being held accountable for .once he has told what need to be done or agreed on what needs to be done ,each goal is recorded on no more than a single page not more than 250 words to express , so we can read it on one minute, with keeping copy so everything is clear and can periodically

check the progress , may be from three to six goals in all to be easy achieved and this is the secret of goal and achieve goals

Importance of one minute goal setting is sound like a philosophy of no surprise every one

knows what is expected from the beginning

Behavioral Terms is observable and measurable not about attitudes or feelings , when we

describe we should be using the behavioral terms to know the solutions easy

Problem exists if there is a difference between what is actually happening and what desire

to be happening

One Minute Goal Setting is simply :

Agree on your goals See what good behavior looks like Write out each of your goals on a single sheet of paper using less than 250 words Read and re-read each goal ,which requires only a minute or so each time you do it Take a minute every once in a while out of your day to look at your performance ,

and See whether or not your behavior matches your goal.

One Minute Praising is catching the subordinates doing something right

Description ; One minute managers knows that it would be a lot easier for people to do well

if they got crystal-clear feedback on how they are doing , he want them to succeed, big help to the organization and enjoy work environment fair feedback for all will be a big

right do

The one minute praising with some delight , comes over and makes contact with them that

often includes putting hands on shoulders or briefly touching them in a friendly way to feel

them you are caring

Importance of one minute praising updated performance review we did not have to wait the

annual one, specifies exactly what they did right with sincere and consistent !Consistent is praising them if performing well and deserve it even if things are not

going well , not doing mistakes , we will responds to where they are not just to where we are

at this time

One Minute Praising works well when you :

Tell people up front that you are going to let them know how they are doing Praise people immediately Tell people what they did right-be specific Tell people how good y,feel about what they did right and how it helps the

organization and the other people who work there Stop for a moment of silence to let them feel how good you feel Encourage them to do more of the same Shake hands or touch people in a way that makes it clear that you support their

success in the organization

One Minute Reprimand is spending time with subordinates when they are doing something

wrong

Description ; The one minute manager do it if his subordinates have been doing a job for

some times and they know to do it well , with quick responding as soon as we learned about the mistake , came and confirm the facts share with them how feels about it ,let

them know how competent you thinks usually about them and make sure they understand

that the only reason makes you angry is you so much respecting them, with showing them

you will not welcome that same mistakes again, Usually we gives the reprimand as soon as something wrong happened , with specifies exactly what did wrong and doesn't attack

them as a person only behavior be fair ,fourth and consistent

Importance of the one minute reprimand will not gives the subordinates chance to rationalize away of mistake or fixing blame on others , attention of never making that mistakes again and also as one minute managers we can accept our mistakes even if reminded by subordinates we all working for goals

The One Minute Reprimand works well when you :

Tell people beforehand that you are going to let them know how they are doing and in no uncertain terms

the first half of the reprimand Reprimand people immediately Tell people what they did wrong-be specific Tell people how you feel about what they did wrong –and in no uncertain terms Shop for a few seconds of uncomfortable silence to let them feel how you feel

the second half of the reprimand Shake hands ,or touch them in a way that lets them know you are honestly on their

side Remind them how much you value them Reaffirm that you think well of them but not of their performance in this situation Realize that when the reprimand is over, it's over .

Why One Minute Manager ? You set one minute goals with people to make sure they know what they are being held accountable for and what good performance looks like then catch them doing something right so you can give them a one minute praising and then finally if they have all the skills to do something right and they don’t you give them a one minute reprimand

One minute manager philosophy is a way to say that being a manager is not as complicated as people would have you believe and also managing people doesn't take as long as you’d think, So when saying one minute management , it might take more than a minute for each of the key elements like goal setting but it’s just a symbolic terms .and very often it dose take only a minute .

The power of One Minute Manager ! Good Example teach a child to speak , suppose you want them saying give me a glass of water , if youwait until the child said whole sentence , the child would die of thirst so you start off bysaying water,water .. all of a sudden one day the child says waller you jump all over theplace hug and kiss, The child get grandmother on the phone so the child can say waller itwas close to water after a while you only accept the word water and then he begin withplease

We got 2 important things from this example 1st is the power of motivation when we hugand kiss we encourage child to try saying right word and second is coaching somebody to become a winner is to catch them doing something right in the beginning approximately right and gradually moving them towards the desired behavior

The power of Touch is a very powerful message and honest, people know immediately

when you touch them whether you care about them or whether you are just trying to find a

new way to manipulate them, Touch the people you manage only when you are giving them

something reassurance , support ,encouragement ..etc

Became a One Minute Manager not because you thought like one or talked like one but

because you behaved like one , You set one minute goals ,You gave One Minute Praising

,You gave One Minute Reprimands and You asked brief ,important questions spoke the simple truth ,laughed ,worked and enjoyed , and the most important for all You

encouraged people worked with you to do the same
