Our One School-One Book selecon for Summer Reading is "I am Malala," the true story of a 14-year old acvist for women's right to educaon who was deliberately shot in the face by the Taliban as she rode her bus home from school in the Swat Valley, Pakistan. She miraculously survived and connues her campaign for educaon. Malala was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 in recognion of her courage and advocacy, becoming the youngest -ever recipient at just seventeen years. We hope this story will inspire our students to understand that even one small person can make an enormous difference in our world. The novel can be purchased through Amazon and is readily available in paperback for $12 at the Crocker Park Barnes and Noble.
