Our One School-One Book selection for Summer Reading is "I am Malala," the true story of a 14-year old activist for women's right to education who was deliberately shot in the face by the Taliban as she rode her bus home from school in the Swat Valley, Pakistan. She miraculously survived and continues her campaign for education. Malala was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 in recognition of her courage and advocacy, becoming the youngest-ever recipient at just seventeen years. We hope this story will inspire our students to understand that even one small person can make an enormous difference in our world.
