Ephesians 1:15-23

Why our eyes need to be opened?

• If our eyes were not opened, we could not understand the power and preciousness of God’s salvation plan through Christ.

If our eyes are opened we will know him better which the revelation will bring a three-part knowledge of God (1:18-19)

1 、 To know the hope of his calling (1:18a)

2 、 To know the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints (1:18b)

3 、 To know his incomparably great power (1:19)

The hope of his calling • Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings,

because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Romans 5:3—5

His glorious inheritance

Peter said to him, 'We have left everything to follow you!' 可 10:29 'I tell you the truth,' Jesus replied, 'no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel

His glorious inheritancewill fail to receive a hundred times as much

in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields--and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.Mark10:28—30

His incomparably great power

• the explanation about this power :

1 、 Resurrection from dead (1:20a)

2 、 Exaltation to God's right hand and above every ruler or force (1:20b-21)

the explanation about this power :

3 、 Scripture proof of the submission of all things to Christ (1:22a)

4 、 Christ as head of all things for the church. His body (1:22b-23a)

5 、 The fullness filling all things (1:23b)

How Could our eyes be opened?

• Relate the truth to our life

• Confess our doubts to God frankly

• Practice our faith even when we could not see
