•After the movie she was nominated for Academy and Golden Globe awards.

•In 1987, the Oprah Winfrey show won the first of many Emmy Awards.

•Her Face has been on over 29 magazines.

•Between 1995 and 1996, she earned a total gross income of $171 million.

•2004, she gave $5 million to Morehouse College to fund college scholarships.

• Winfrey opened a school in South Africa, The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls South Africa, in 2007.

•She is the highest paid entertainer in the world

•Learned how to read at two and half years old

•At nine she was raped by a cousin and it didn’t stop for years after that.

•Didn’t go to kindergarten, then went from 1st grade to 3rd.

•Became very un behaved and her mother sent her to live with her father( who was REALLY strict)

•When she was a junior in college she was already making an annual salary of 15,000 dollars a year!!!!
