A.S. SPORT MANAGEMENT

I. General State of Purpose: This document establishes a formal transfer agreement between SUNY Broome Community College, Associate of Science, Sport Management program and SUNY Cortland's Bachelor of Science Sport Management.

II. Objectives: A. To create a seamless transfer process for students from SUNY Broome Community

College to SUNY Cortland;

B. To attract highly qualified students to both colleges.

Ill. Eligibility/ Admission Requirements: A. SUNY Broome Community College students must complete an A.S. Degree in Sport

Management degree before entrance into the SUNY Cortland Sport Management program;

B. SUNY Broome Community College students must meet the academic requirements for admission to SUNY Cortland, including specific course work as outlined in this prop?sal;

C. We recommend that SUNY Broome Community College students complete a minimum of seven of t he ten SUNY General Education requirements;

D. SUNY Broome Community College students must complete the SUNY Cortland application process.

IV. Benefits/ Advantages: A. Junior status for degree and financial aid purposes;

B. Waiver of the Cortland General Education requirements (not SUNY GE requirements);

C. Guidelines for completion of Sport Management at SUNY Cortland and direct contact for advisement to promote an easier transition for qualified students.

Articulation Agreement SUNY Broome Community College/SUNY Cortland A.S. Sport Management/B.S. Sport Management

V. Terms of Agreement A. Admission requirement A minimum overall grade point average of2.5 is required for

admission. It mllst be noted~however, that Sport Management admissions standards . may be significantly higher;

B. The maximum number of credits completed at SUNY Broome Community College that can be applied toward the Cortland degree is 64;

C. SUNY Broome Community College students must provide a final transcript with their degree .designated;

D. This articulation agreement will be monitored on an annual basis by contact between department chairpersons;

E. Each institution will be responsible for making this agreement viable and workable for interested students;

F. Each institution may engage in publication and marketing of this agreement;

G. SUNY Cortland and SUNY Broome Community College agree that future changes in the SUNY Cortland Sport Management major will create necessary commensurate changes in this agreement

H. Half of the credits in the major and concentration and a minimum of 45 hours of course work must be completed in residency at SUNY Cortland.

I. The SUNY Broome Community College transfer student will complete at least 4 semesters of course work at SUNY Cortland.

VI. Effective Date, Duration, Revisions A The duration of this agreement is for three years beginning September l, 2014

through August 31, 2017 with a re-evaluation each year before August 31 of each year.

B. Minor changes to the Sport Managements will be carried out by the department chairs designated as contact persons or their successors. Major changes, that is, changes to the conditions for the agreement will be communicated to all parties, and the agreement will be amended to reflect these changes.

2+2 TRANSFER ARTICULATION AGREEMENT between

THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK COLLEGE AT CORTLAND

and BROOME COMMUNITY COLLEGE

The purpose of this agreement is to facilitate the transfer ofAssociate of Science (A.S.) degree students majoring in Human Services from Broome Community College to the Bachelor ofArts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree programs in Human Service Studies at the State University ofNew York College at Cortland. Associate of Science degree recipients will enter SUNY Cortland as juniors and, assuming normal academic progress, have the opportunity to complete the Bachelor ofArts or Bachelor of Science degree.

APPLICATION/ADMISSION TO SUNY CORTLAND

Students who earn the AS. degree in Human Services from Broome Community College and who meet the current admission criteria at SUNY Cortland will be admitted to the B.A. or B.S. degree programs in Human Service Studies. Since the demand for these programs may exceed

capacity, students will be admitted on a space available hasis.

To be considered for admission to SUNY Cortland a student must complete the State University ofNew York application. Official transcripts should be sent from the Registrar at all post­secondary schools previonsly attended, directly to the SUNY Cortland Admissions Office. Upon receipt of the application and all official transcripts, the Admissions Office will determine

eligibility for admission.

B.A. OR B.S. COMPLETION TIME FRAME

Transfer students entering SUNY Cortland in Hnman Service Studies with the A.S. in Human Services from Broome Community College are guaranteed full Junior class standing. Further, Hnman Service Studies at SUNY Cortland is designed specifically to fucilitate the transfer of students from lower-division to upper-division study without undue credit Joss. Students holding the A.S. degree in Hnman Services from Broome Community College willnave the opportunity to satisfy Bachelor ofArts or Bachelor of Science degree requirements in Human Service Studies,

assuming:

* academic advisement is carefully followed at both Broome Community College and SUNY Cortland

* completion of 75 credits ofcourses designated as Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) for the Bachelor of Science degree and 90 credit hours ofLAS courses for the Bachelor ofArts degree -- transfer equivalent courses designated as LAS will

• count toward the total LAS credits necessary for the degree completion ofthe basic introductory course inhuman services, at least six credit hours offield work (internship), and six additional credits in human service courses at Broome Community College; additional course work in human services, up to a total maximUIIl of eighteen credits will count toward the major requirements for the B.A. or B.S. degree.

* completion of at least one-halfthe major requirements ( eighteen credits) at SUNY Cortland, chosen from courses distributed among seven categories; all majors must complete the Senior Seminar course in category seven at SUNY Cortland

GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

All lower-division SUNY Cortland General Education req_uirements are automatically considered satisfied by students earning the A.S. degree in human services at Broome Community College.

ACADEMIC MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

Transfer students should follow major course requirements as outlined in the SUNY Cortland Catalog. The introductory human service course, a minimum of6 credits in field studies (internship), and at least 6 additional credits in human services courses should be completed at Broome Community College prior to transferring in order to insure that students will have the necessary preparation to continue advanced, upper-division major courses at SUNY Cortland.

EVALUATION OF TRANSFER CREDIT

Transfer credit is evaluated by the Admissions Office upon a student's paid deposit at SUNY Cortland. The evaluation will include course work from all official transcripts on file. To insure a complete evaluation, transfer students are encouraged to have ALL official college transcripts sent to the SUNY Cortland Admissions Office early in the application process.

AGREEMENT REVIEW/REVISION

Faculty and administration at SUNY Cortland and Broome Community College are responsible for conferring on matters ofcurricular content and program detail. Both colleges agree to the timely exchange of information,_ especially as it pertains to curricular/degree changes which may influence academic advising and degree requirements. This agreement shall remain in effect until terminated by either college.

Articulation Agreement SUNY Broome/SUNY Cortland A.S. Sport Studies/B.S.Ed. Physical Education or B.S. Sport Studies

V. Terms of Agreement A. Admission requirement: A minimum overall grade point average of 2.5 is required for

admission. It must be noted, however, that program admissions standards may be significantly higher;

B. The maximum number of credits completed at SUNY Broome that can be applied toward the Cortland degree is 64;

C. SUNY Broome students must provide a final transcript with their degree designated;

D. This articulation agreement will be monitored on an annual basis by contact between department chairpersons;

E. Each institution will be responsible for making this agreement viable and workable for interested students;

F. Each institution may engage in publication and marketing of this agreement;

G. SUNY Cortland and SUNY Broome agree that future changes in the SUNY Cortland Physical Education or Sport Studies program will create necessary commensurate changes in this agreement.

H. Half of the credits in the major and concentration and a minimum of 30 hours of course work must be completed in residency at SUNY Cortland.

I. The SUNY Broome transfer student will complete at least 4 semesters of course work at SUNY Cortland.

VJ. Effective Date, Duration, Revisions A. The duration of this agreement is for three years beginning August 1, 2017 through

July 31, 2020 with a re~evaluation each year before August 1 of each year.

B. Minor changes to the programs will be carried out by the department chairs designated as contact persons or their successors. Major changes, that is, changes to the conditions for the agreement will be communicated to all parties, and the agreement will be amended to reflect these changes.

Articulation Agreement Between SUNY Cortland and Broome Community College

Associate of Science in Liberal Arts and General Studies Education and Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Childhood Education

I. General Statement of Purpose:

This document establishes a formal transfer agreement between SUNY Cortland's Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Childhood Education program and Broome Community College's Associate of Science in Liberal Arts and General Studies Education program.

II. Objectives:

A. This program is designed to create a seamless transfer process for students from Broome Community College into SUNY Cortland.

B. To attra,ct highly qualified students to both colleges.

III. Eligibility/Admission Requirements:

A. Broome Community College students must complete an Associate of Science degree in Liberal Arts and General Studies Education before entrance into SUNY Cortland's Early Childhood/Childhood Education program.

B. Broome Community College students must meet the academic requirements for admission including specific coursework as outlined in the attached proposal.

C. Broome Community College students must complete a minimum of seven of the ten General Education Requirements. (The curricula outlined will satisfy at least 8 SUNY General Education Requirements.)

D. Broome Community College students must complete the application process of SUNY Cortland.

E. Broome Community College students must complete a program application which includes a background check and other required infmmation at time of admission. Official entry into the program is contingent on this application being approved.

These competencies and performance indicators are included in the courses at Broome Community College and SUNY Cortland to assure a coherence oflearning regardless of where students begin their education. Students from Broome Community College will compile evidence of their competencies and assessment in a portfolio wl1ich will be further developed in the Early Childhood/Childhood Education Program at SUNY Cortland.
