Oscar Peterson International Jazz Festival Announces Presenting Sponsor TD Bank

For Immediate Release August 15, 2017 – Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario – August 15, 2017 marks the 92nd anniversary of the birth of Canadian jazz legend Oscar Peterson. To honour this significant day, the Oscar Peterson International Jazz Festival is thrilled to announce TD Bank as the Festival’s Presenting Sponsor.

The announcement was made at TD Centre by Peter Robinson, Associate Vice President, Wealth Credit & Market Risk: “TD is proud to team up with Kelly Peterson and Bravo Niagara! in paying homage to the life’s work of Canada’s preeminent jazz musician, Oscar Peterson, with a new festival named in his memory. As a long-time supporter of jazz festivals across Canada, TD is honoured to celebrate Oscar's life and legacy during the TD Black History Month Series 2018 by showcasing the music Oscar loved.”

The inaugural Oscar Peterson International Jazz Festival is set to take place in the picturesque Niagara region during the weekend of February 16-18, 2018. As the world’s first (and only!) jazz festival bearing the name of Canada’s greatest jazz artist, it will applaud and celebrate his legacy of excellence. The Festival is led by Artistic Producer Kelly Peterson, Artistic Director Renee Rosnes, Executive Producer Bravo Niagara! Festival of the Arts, and Public Relations & Social Media Director Céline Peterson. This festival is not intended to simply present concerts in tribute to Oscar Peterson, but rather to truly present jazz, showcasing the rich history and the future of the music Oscar loved. The Oscar Peterson International Jazz Festival gratefully acknowledges the financial support of Presenting Sponsor TD Bank, the Government of Canada, and the Government of Ontario.
