We also say

thank you to the Bunting

Family who provided the

Music and Christmas

goodies. All who attended raved about the food and the

great time they had. To all who contributed their time and

talent we say. thank you very much for providing this

amazing luncheon. Our Senior Citizen Parishioners look

forward every year to this event as a chance to socialize

with friends and enter into a festive spirit!!

My Dear Parishioners,

The celebration of Our Saviors Birth is immanent.

A singular moment of divine intervention in the saga

of humankind framed by the resounding YES to the

mysterious will of God uttered by Mary and Joseph so

very long ago. A young couple are about to become

parents living in a nation turned upside down by the

Emperors order that a nation-wide census be

undertaken. Traveling with hundreds of fellow

pilgrims, Mary and Joseph are headed for Bethlehem,

City of Bread, the ancestral home of King David,

from whose family line both Mary and Joseph were

descended. No relatives were awaiting their arrival.

No ready guest room or welcoming meal would greet

them in Bethlehem. They would discover instead a

stable, an adequate shelter from the cold, a humble

delivery room, an earthy stage rising from the night

shadows to embrace the twinkling lights of an

expectant sky. This Jewish husband and wife are about

to welcome into life the birth of a son; preparing to

experience both celestial apparition and human

companionship. We, too, await these final days until

Christmas. May our own hearts be filled with a

joyful hope as we scurry around finishing our

shopping, gift wrapping, baking, cleaning, decorating

and card writing. Above all else, may we be open to

receiving Christ in the person of others. I

warmly invite you, your family and loved ones to

celebrate the joy of Christmas by attending the Mass

of your choice, either on Christmas Eve or Christmas

Day. The schedule is printed in the Bulletin.

Encourage house guests, students home for the

holidays, out of town friends, non-Catholic spouses

and acquaintances with no specific church affiliation

at this time, to join you at Holy Mass to share in the

spiritual blessings offered to people of good will

everywhere.

I am very grateful to you for your faithful stewardship

of time, talent and treasure. Traditionally the annual

Christmas Collection is the largest of the year and

parishes count on those extra funds to catch up on

payments of bills and other expenses. May your Gift

at Christmas be reflective of the ways God has blessed

you and your loved ones.

Warmly, Fr. Paul Harte and Deacon Joe Lonergan

The Wreaths on the church doors

have been donated in memory of

Charles & Carmela Iacona by

Frank Iacona and in memory

of Bud and Millie Conover by

The Family. Thank you for

these beautiful Christmas

Wreaths.

THE CHRISTMAS WREATH ON

THE LECTOR STAND IS

IN MEMORY OF THE

HEENAN FAMILY

FROM SR. Deacon Joe will lead this program on

Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. starting Monday, January

23rd in the St. Matthew room in the annex. There will be

no tests and the only required reading is your Bible.
