Your US Army Garrison Hunting, Fishing and Sport Shooting Club provides you with a taste of home and offers a full program with guidance and certifications needed to experience Europe’s vast sporting opportu-nities. Guided and un-guided hunts can be arranged through your HFSS Club Coordinator upon request. Try your luck in one of our local hunting areas or some-thing more exotic like the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, France, Austria or Africa.

Local day hunts are $40 plus a trophy fee (includes morning and evening hunt).

APRIL German American Friendship Fishing Event April 7 • 7 a.m.-1 p.m.• $15.00 Two fishing rods allowed. Trophies awarded to the top three anglers. Fishing license required.

MAY Roe Deer Hunts May 1 • morning and evening • $40May 4 & 5 • 2 morning and 2 evening • $60 Join us for opening day of the season. We have 250 acres (100 hectare) of prime hunting grounds at your disposal to harvest your first Roe Deer.

Cod Fishing Trip May 24-27 • $360/personIncludes: transportation, 3 nights lodging, breakfast, lunch,2 days of fishing. Reservation required NLT 1 week prior. Equipment rental available upon advanced request. Start the day with breakfast on the boat then on to the fishing grounds for pilking (vertical jigging) and reeling in the cod. On-site fishing instructor available! No fishing license re-quired. Departs Katterbach at 6 a.m., returns approx. 11:30 p.m. May 27.

JUNE VFW Youth Fishing Event for children 6 and upJune 1 • 8 a.m.-12 p.m. • No cost! Share your love of the outdoors and fishing with the youth of our community. No cost to children 6 years and older.Equipment provided. NO fishing license required.

JULY Carp Fishing EventJuly 27 • 7 a.m.-1 p.m. • $15Catch the MONSTER Carp in Soldiers Lake. Rumor has it that some are over 30 lbs! Two fishing rods and chumming allowed. Trophies awarded to the top three anglers. Fishing license required.

AUGUSTAmerican Legion/VFW Youth Fishing EventAugust 3 • 8 a.m.-12 p.m. • No cost! Share your love of the outdoors and fishing with the youth of our community. No cost to children 6 years and older. Equipment provided. NO fishing license required.

White Fish Event August 24 • 7 a.m.-1 p.m. • $15 Two fishing rods and chumming allowed. Trophies awarded to the top three anglers. Fishing license required.

OCTOBER5th Annual Soldiers Lake Invitational Oct 4, 3 p.m.--Oct 5, 1 p.m. • $125 The lake will be stocked with at least 350 kilos of trout with an average catch of around 30 fish per participant, many fish over 5 lbs. Two fishing rods allowed. Trophies awarded to the top three anglers. No fish limit. Free BarBQ follow-ing. Fishing license required.

Masters Event October 12 • 7 a.m.-1 p.m. • $15 Two fishing rods allowed. Trophies awarded to the top three anglers. Fishing license required.

Annual Fish Fry October 19 • -6 p.m. • No cost!

HUNTING COURSES60-hour course is offered to US citizens 18 and older and teaches land and game management, game disease and harvest plans. Additional fees for the shooting range and ammunition. Private group classes can be arranged with a minimum of 10 students.

FALL HUNTING COURSECost: $150HFSS Club membership: $15Where: Katterbach Outdoor Recreation, Bldg 5807When: October 15-December 14Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 6-9 p.m.Saturday training required for range and land management.

Angler of the Year Series: April 14-October 20Cost: $20Sign up at beginning of the fishing season to etch your name in history. The series is comprised of events that take place during the fishing season. Points are awarded for each event you participate in according to where you place. Trophy’s awarded at the annual Masters Event.

Monthly Fishing EventGet the first shot at the new fish. Soldiers Lake is stocked each month prior to this fishing event. With 1 pole, some luck and $15 you have the chance to take home 7 trout. At the end of each event a drawing is held and at least 3 prizes are awarded to the lucky winners. When: Second Saturday of the month from April-October Time: 6:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Cost: $15 per event
