The American Journal of Science (AJS), founded in

1818 by Benjamin Silliman, is the oldest scientific

journal in the United States that has been published

continuously. The Journal is devoted to geology and

related sciences and publishes articles from around the

world presenting results of major research from all earth

sciences. Readers are primarily earth scientists in

academia and government institutions. AJS had an

impact factor of 3.607 for 2003, ranking first for all peer-

reviewed earth sciences journals publishing new content

(ranking does not include journals that focus on review

articles). Articles in AJS tend to be cited for many years,

resulting in a citation half-life that exceeds 10 years (all

statistics from Thomson ISI).

DNA Research DNA Research is an internationally peer-reviewed

journal which aims at publishing papers of highest

quality in broad aspects of DNA and genome-related

research. Emphasis will be made on the following

subjects: 1) Sequencing and characterization of

genomes/important genomic regions, 2) Comprehensive

analysis of the functions of genes, gene families and

genomes, 3) Techniques and equipments useful for

structural and functional analysis of genes, gene families

and genomes, 4) Computer algorithms and/or their

applications relevant to structural and functional analysis

of genes and genomes. The journal also welcomes novel

findings in other scientific disciplines related to

genomes.

The Journal was launched in 1994 by Kazusa DNA

Research Institute for publication of fine research in the

growing field of genomic research. The online version of

the journal was launched in 2000, and the journal has

ever since been proud of providing the journal open

access. DNA Research continues to provide its online

journal open access at a very low author charge.

Asian Business & Management (ABM) is an academic

general management and business journal, that is, we

are in principle open to all disciplines and fields of

research on management and business-subject to the

condition that submissions must be related to Asia. We

especially encourage papers that draw on one of the

various streams of the business systems literature,

broadly conceived, to generate new insights into the

societal embeddedness of firms in Asia and the

consequences of such embeddedness on managerial

and business processes, structures, and outcomes.

The British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical

Psychology publishes articles relating to areas of

psychology which have a greater mathematical or

statistical aspect of their argument than is usually

acceptable to other journals including mathematical,

psychology, statistics, psychometrics, decision making,

psychophysics, classification, relevant areas of

mathematics, computing and computer software.

These include articles that address substitutive

psychological issues or that develop and extend

techniques useful to psychologists. New models for

psychological processes, new approaches to existing

data, critiques of existing models and improved

algorithms for estimating the parameters of a model are

Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies is a peer-

reviewed journal founded in 2004 that publishes

scholarship for an international readership on

communication as a theory, practice, technology, and

discipline of power. The journal features critical inquiry

that cuts across academic boundaries to focus on social,

political, and cultural practices from the standpoint of

communication. It promotes critical reflection on the

requirements of a more democratic culture by giving

attention to subjects such as, but not limited to, class,

race, ethnicity, gender, ability, sexuality, polity, public

sphere, nation, environment, and globalization. Essays

are selected as academically sound, rhetorically self-

reflexive, intellectually innovative, and conceptually

relevant to democratic concerns in their orientation

toward communication and culture. The journal is

published quarterly in March, June, September, and

December.
