Oxygen lance system

• Oxygen lance is critical equipment for the steel making process with top-blown oxygen converters. This system is composed of lance proper, up-and-downing cart, lance replacing equipment, lance transverse frames, lance counter weight, guide, position indicator, valve chamber and connecting hose etc

The oxygen lance is installed on the up and downing cart along with which the lance goes up and down. This cart is provided with a double coiler transmission system and a counter weight, in case the oxygen lance is in failure the lance could be lifted to a safe place in a short time.

Overall length of the lance (including lance proper and the injector) is: - 15.41 m. Maximum up-and-downing travel: - 12.5 m. Oxygen supply capacity: - 100-120 m3/min. Oxygen supply pressure:-0.9-1.5 mpa. Water flow:-80m3 /h. The lance proper is of a three layer tube-in-tube structure with the inner pipe (§105*5) for oxygen, the inter pipe (§133*5) for cooling water supply and outer pipe (§159*7) for cooling water drainage The up and downing cart can travel at a high speed and a low speed which is 4m/min and 6m/min respectively. it is driven by a DC motor

Transverse mechanism for lance replacement can travel at a speed of

1.2m/min within a distance of 1342mm.

There is a 3t hanging crane in the high aisle of the convertor workshop building at an elevation of 38.5m

Oxygen lance

The oxygen lance is made up of mild steel having copper tip length 215mm.

Diameter of the lance tip is 159mm Lance tip consists of four converging and

diverging nozzles for oxygen to pass through. Diameter of each nozzle initial: 21.7. Outer: 29.2. Angle:120

CONVERTER TILTING SYSTEM

• The converter is of normal mouth, symmetrical cap, barrel shaft and intercept conic-type bottom. Connection of bottom and shaft is removable to facilitate converter repairing.

• There are three sets of ball hinge bearing equipments which are equally apaced on the mantle ring with an included angle of 1200.The converter proper is hung on the bearing equipment. In addition, clips are provided above and under the trunions as well as the tapping hole. Therefore the converter proper is well held during tilting operation

• The oxygen supply facility in the steel making plant includes the pipe lines and the valve sets.

• The oxygen pipe for converter is equipped with manually operated shut off valve, pneumatic quick-stop valve for emergency, main pipe flow meter and bleeding valve

• The average oxygen consumption is 2980cum/h and the maximum is 6988cum/h.

• oxygen blowing pressure is 12-16 bar for the converter and 3 bar for the small users

• The maximum nitrogen consumption is 4600 cum/h and the pressure is 0.5-0.7 mpa

• The flow meter is provided with local display unit to monitor the instant and accumulative flow. Oxygen main filtering unit is equipped to prevent mechanical impurities going into the flow regulating valve which may lead to an accident. The oxygen after filtering will go separately to the lance of the converter for blowing operation• The oxygen pipe for the fragmentary users in workshop will be picked up from the main pipe of the workshop. a valve block is provided on the platform to reduce the pressure from 1.6mpa to 0.2mpa.the pipe is provided with filtering unit before and with quick stop valve, bleeding valve and flow meter after the pressure regulating valve block. Local displaying instruments are equipped for monitoring pressure and flow. manually operated shut off valve is provided
