Emergency Response
Pacific Aviation Directors Workshop – Honolulu, Hawaii
Emergency Preparedness & Evacuation Training
• In the event of an emergency, we will be judged on our response and how we conduct ourselves under the most trying circumstances. The hours during and after an emergency are emotionally charged and often confusing. To be most effective, responders should remember the following guidelines:
• . Do not release premature or inaccurate information• . Respond with urgency to all reasonable requests• . Keep track of all commitments and ensure they are met• . Maintain clear, regular communication with Company responders• . Exercise patience and set an example for others• The proper Company response to an emergency depends upon an
almost unlimited and unpredictable number of variables: Type of aircraft, geographic location, weather, extent of damage, injuries, and available communications and resources are but a few. An effective responder will understand priorities, follow key procedures, exercise initiative, and above all, remain flexible
