UTILITY MAINTENANCE - DEPARTMENTThe City of Odem has a job opening for a Utility Maintenance Worker.Candidate must be willing to perform both routine and skilled heavy, physicalwork in the construction, maintenance, repair and installation of waterdistribution, wastewater system and related structures. Candidate will be ona 24/14 hour on-call duty rotation as required for operations, maintenance, andsafety of facilities and to ensure the integrity of the system. Candidate willassist in the installation and maintenance of water and sewer mains, manholesand valves. They will perform basic repairs on water and sewer lines, shoring ofditches during shift and after hours and on weekends as needed. Candidate mustbe able to operate heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, dump trucksand loaders. Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Oneyear of experience in the water and/or wastewater field is preferred. Must have avalid Class “C” or “CDL” Texas Driver’s License. A Class TCEQ Class “C” Distributionand “C” Wastewater Treatment Operator License is a must.
