Technologythe branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the

environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts, engineering, applied science, and pure science.

Reason causing technology problems

1. Nanotechnology

2. 3D Printers

3. Artificial General Intelligence

4. Biotechnology

5. Atomic and nuclear bombs

6. Aliens invasion, etc.

Nanotechnology Effects1. Small Nano bots can be programed to destroy human body

2. Can be programed to destroy whole world with simple elements like carbon

3. Can ultimately lead to end of planet earth.

Nanotechnology Health Effects

• The characteristics of nanoparticles that are relevant for health effects are:

• Size – In addition to being able to cross cell membranes, reach the blood and various organs because of their very small size, nanoparticles of any material have a much greater surface to volume ratio (i.e. the surface area compared to the volume) than larger particles of that same material. Therefore, relatively more molecules of the chemical are present on the surface. This may be one of the reasons why nanoparticles are generally more toxic than larger particles of the same composition.

• Chemical composition and surface characteristics – The toxicity of nanoparticles depends on their chemical composition, but also on the composition of any chemicals adsorbed onto their surfaces. However, the surfaces of nanoparticles can be modified to make them less harmful to health.

• Shape – Although there is little definitive evidence, the health effects of nanoparticles are likely to depend also on their shape. A significant example is nanotubes, which may be of a few nanometers in diameter but with a length that could be several micrometres. A recent study showed a high toxicity of carbon nanotubes which seemed to produce harmful effects by an entirely new mechanism, different from the normal model of toxic dusts.

3D Printers destroying the world

1. Can help in printing organs

2. Leading to decrease in death rate

3. Which will lead to overpopulation

4. Thus a main reason for every problem

Artificial General Intelligence1. Some day might robots take over the world

2. Leading to conditions liking terminator

3. Human might find themselves fighting for existence

4. Already robots can do much more than humans

Page 8: Pankaj sharma and manjinder singh

Biotechnology 1. Human beings play with genetic structure of every living thing

2. Can lead to superhuman and super animals

3. They can fight for ruling the world

4. Ultimately leading to end of the world

Atomic and nuclear bombs

1. Countries have developed weapons that can even destroy whole earth

2. Whole earth can be destroyed with the help of Hydrogen Bomb

3. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are the examples from the past

Page 10: Pankaj sharma and manjinder singh

Aliens invasion

1. Many scientist believe that it’s a mistake to contact with alien worlds

2. Can lead to war between worlds

3. Can lead to end of the earth

4. Voyager 1 with human existence messages was the biggest and last mistake of mankind according to some sharp minds

Some Other Effects of Technology

• 1. Isolation

Social isolation is characterized by no contact with other people in normal daily living. For example the workplace, with friends and in social activities. People isolate their selves by walking around in our own little world, listening to iPods or staring at the screen of the latest mobile device even when we are around other people. Studies have shown that people who are socially isolated will live shorter lives.

• Obesity - The more time people are spending engrossed in video games, talking to friends online and watching and sitting videos on YouTube about random stuff then they are spending less time being active or exercising. Also the likelihood of mindlessly eating unhealthy food increases as people are hypnotized by the latest episode of Honey Boo or Pawn Stars.

• Poor Sleep Habits

Some of the negative effects of technology can be linked to the effect it has on sleep habits. We get sucked into online activities that keep us up too late like surfing on net and and the constant stream of information can make it difficult to turn off our brains. Also, the ambient glow from screens can affect the release of melatonin, the sleep chemical. Keeping technology out of the bedroom would be a very healthy habit to acquire.

• Depression - Technology creates the perfect recipe for depression with the lack of human contact, overeating and lack of exercise. There is a reason the use of antidepressants are on the rise and the blame can’t be completely dumped on the pharmaceutical companies. They aren’t carting people into the doctor’s office and force feeding them the pills. This isn’t to say that depression isn’t a real problem, but some people could cure their depression by living a healthier lifestyle.

• Stress - Constantly being “plugged in” and “connected” causes an extra layer of stress that wasn’t present before the overuse of technology.

Page 14: Pankaj sharma and manjinder singh

• Neck and Head Pain - Constantly looking down at devices can cause neck pain and over time will cause the neck to lose its natural curve. Eyestrain can also cause headaches, blurred vision and migraines.

• Loss of Hearing and Eyesight -Using headphones and ear buds can cause people to lose their hearing over time. Likewise, straining your eyes looking at computer and device screens can cause people to need glasses much earlier in life.

Thank you 1. Technology keeps on increasing but can lead to end

2. But its making our life much easier and makes everything useful
