Cast of Characters Parappa the Rapper: A.K.A. Parappa Rappa. Remember the adorable little puppy protagonist you all grew up to love in the first PaRappa game and in Um Jammer Lammy? Well, he's back again, and this time, he's still trying to impress his love interest, Sunny Funny. He used to love noodles, but suddenly grows tired of eating just noodles though he still loves them. Though Sunny cooks the noodles, he feels depressed, and now tries to show her that he is not a baby anymore while trying to handle off the noodle crisis that is becoming widespread around Parappa Town, always with his trademark, familiar catchphrase: "I gotta believe!" Like in the game's two predecessors, Parappa is voiced by John Simpson III, a.k.a. Dred Foxx. Sunny Funny: Yes, the flower girlfriend and Parappa's love interest is back. She still has the cheery disposition yet is sometimes gullible, and her favorite pastime is gardening and cooking some pasta, especially noodles. But when she sees Parappa getting tired of eating just noodles, she calls him a baby and wishes that he would just grow up, and now he's trying to act mature if they want to see each other again. Unlike in PaRappa 1 and Um Jammer Lammy, Sunny's voice role is now played by a new voice actress: Lea Alomar. PJ Berri: The lazy, gluttonous bear from both predecessors is back. He is still Parappa's best friend who loves food, doesn't know the meaning of the word "rock 'n roll", and has a hidden agenda as "PJ the DJ", assisting Parappa on his adventure to try and solve the noodle crisis. PJ can be very uncomfortable when he gets a kiss from Parappa! :P Anyway, just like in PaRappa 1 and UJL, PJ is voiced by Armstead Christian. Katy Kat: Best friend of Parappa and Sunny. Katy is very decisive and a natural-born leader to her friends. She is also a smart dresser who loves to pass her time shopping, enjoys disco, and will try to get things organized. She has recently joined MILKCAN as a bassist with her two friends, Lammy and Ma-san, and could be involved in Parappa's mess when they try to get along well in the "noodle incident" (no pun intended)! Unlike in PaRappa 1 and UJL, but just like Sunny's voice role, Katy's is now played by a new voice actress: Shannon White. Lammy: Yes, the main protagonist of Um Jammer Lammy is back! As you may recall in said game, Lammy is the one who got caught up in a lot of mess while trying hard to arrive at her concert on time: helping put out fires, taking care of baby rabbits, helping a pilot with a multiple-personality disorder fly a plane, helping a crazed tree-chopping beaver make a guitar out of a tree, and even either giving up the ghost only to win it back in hell (Japan/PAL version) or getting catapulted backwards in time onto a tropical island and finding a way to return to the present (U.S. version), all by battling it out with a supernatural diva. Lammy is also the guitarist of MILKCAN and somehow gets involved in Parappa's mess along with Katy and Ma-san when they try to get along well in the "noodle incident" as well. Even hotter is that instead of her stutter, she gets a bit of a Hispanic accent! Like in her main game, Lammy is voiced by (who else?) the "Grey's Anatomy" star Sara Ramirez! And she's still as sexy as ever! Hotsa, hotsa! :D ^_^ Ma-san: Yes, the tiny drummer with a dynamite fuse on her head is back from UJL! Like in the game, little is known about her life other than the fact that her father runs a pharmacy shop, and she is somehow shy yet talks in the same old high-pitched, mumbled gibberish worthy of Mumbles from "Dick Tracy". She also has a very short temper, so if you try to tick her off, her fuse will light up, and she will go into Shin-Ma-san mode and let her drumsticks do the talking. Along with Lammy and Katy, Ma-san somehow gets involved in Parappa's

mess when they try to get along well in the "noodle incident" as well. She is voiced by Ryu Watabe in high-speed dubbing mode which sounds like a gibberish chipmunk, just like in UJL! :P Papa Parappa: Remember Parappa's father in the first PaRappa the Rapper game? He is back, and he's still a gentle guy who gets all worrisome if something bad happens to his valued possessions and antiques. His son once wrecked his car in the first game, but with help from Rastafarian frog Prince Fleaswallow, Parappa was able to replace the car and make it as good as it once was. Now Papa Parappa hears the news of the noodle incident, and is trying hard to solve it as soon and as fast as possible. Like PJ in the first PaRappa game, Papa Parappa is voiced by Christian. General Potter: Father of Sunny Funny. Remember him near the end of the first PaRappa game? Well, he's back again, and he's still the leader of the military who trains new recruits for the army and works out with Papa Parappa in an effort to solve the noodle crisis that is becoming widespread all over Parappa Town. Potter is voiced by John James. Beard Burger Master: Owner, founder, and president of the Beard Burger Restaurant. His lifelong dream was to make burgers and make a name for himself by founding a food chain and selling burgers to his customers. When he died of natural causes, his job was handed over to one of his apprentices, preferably his son. Nowadays, things are not going so well, because of the noodle incident that is plaguing the restaurant, and his son might be the cause of it all. Though Beard Burger Master is sometimes referred to as "Master Beard", I would like to call him just "Beard", as you will see in the storyline. His voice accent kind of sounds like that of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Governator! :P Anyway, Beard is voiced by Ethan Eubanks. (P.S. Now I may sound crazy, but it should be noted that in the McDonald's restaurant's custom-made demo version of the game as a promo, instead of being shaped like Beard's head, the Beard Burger restaurant is designed as a classic Mickey D's complete with the golden twin arches. I guess the Mickey D's of 2001's Japan pre-August 30 had something like Parappa to be proud of as its "Fast Food Nation" (named from a book created on the same year as Japan's PaRappa 2 game!) and part of a Happy Meal for kids... that is, as long as they stay away from wine! LOL XD) Beard Burger Manager: Son of Beard Burger Master. Little is known about his life, except that he was chosen as the successor to his father, who was on his deathbed. The manager believes that he was doing his work on making the burgers when all of a sudden they are turned into noodles. However, there seems to be something odd about his behavior, and you'll find out later in the game. Though he is the manager, I like to refer to him as "??????", as you will see why later. He is voiced by Andrew Alonzo. Chop Chop Master Onion: Yes, the onion-headed sensei from PaRappa 1 and UJL is back! As you may recall, his Fruites Dojo had been devastated, yet remains in his mind, complete with a casino. He even helped Parappa in his first game and gave Lammy some advice: "Dojo, casino, it's all in the mind" (and even had the power to predict her entire future in UJL!). Now that his dojo has been fixed, he makes his own TV show about romantic karate and tries to teach his pupils, especially his Tamanegis (onion pupils), about fighting for love. (It kind of reminds me of the Janglish song "Let's Fighting Love" from the South Park episode "Good Times with Weapons". :P) Not only that, but Chop Chop also hosts a minigame in which Parappa has to break the plates the Tamanegis are holding, and in good timing, to score points. Like Ma-san, Chop Chop is voiced by Watabe. Guru Ant: An ant whose power and philosophy help people who have been shrunk

down to size where the legs are long. He feels mellow when he is small, but he can get incredibly timid when he gets bigger than his normal size. Lately he gets tired of people changing the world with crimes, violence, wars, famine and whatnot, and he makes a philosophy about human rights. He even boasts to be a favorite, which has something to do with religious issues about blasphemy, as you will see why later. Oh, and did I mentions that his face is kind of a parody of blackface? (O_O) Anyway, Guru Ant is voiced by Dean Bowman. Instructor Moosesha: Moosesha (pronounced Moo-say-sha) is a badass moose who wears a tutu and military pants. Though you may not know it, she is the younger sister of Instructor Mooselini from PaRappa 1 (you know, the one who taught Parappa to drive, forgetting to close the car door in the process! LOL). Moosesha tries to help Parappa get through the military obstacle course, but don't take her lightly, or she will whoop you real silly! She is voiced by not one, but two (!) voice actresses: Kimberly Queen and Aaminah Hassell. Hairdresser Octopus: An upside-down octopus head who seems to have a bad case of schizophrenia, a bindi on his head, and a high-pitched Latino accent. He cuts and styles people's hair at his salon. Nowadays, since the "noodle incident" crisis, he seems to be hypnotized into making noodle afros that could soon swallow up the people. His appearance is red when he is under the influence of the hypnotizing noodle music, yet becomes blue when under normal circumstances. He is voiced by Freedom Bremner. Colonel Noodle: A dictator and ruler of the Noodle Syndicate who seemingly turns the world's food into noodles. It is seemingly unsure what his intentions are, though my guess is that he wants the noodles all to himself. It is unknown what his identity is, though some claim that he seems to bear a striking semblance to Beard Burger Master's son somehow. Though the voice and subtitles call him "Colonel Noodles", I prefer to call him by just "Noodle". Anyway, Noodle is also voiced by Alonzo, though he may have the same voice as the Beard Burger Manager. MC King Kong Mushi: Yes, the flea master of ceremonies from PaRappa 1 is back. Always the entertainer at Club Fun, he is idolized by all the youths at Parappa Town and hosts wild parties to keep the whole crowd going (he is sometimes labeled as "Gangsta DJ", if you ask me :P). King Kong Mushi has a different voice actor, and it is the same guy who voiced Guru Ant, Dean Bowman. Other Characters: Boxy Boy: Remember PJ's walking blue boombox from PaRappa 1? Well, he's back again. But this time, in this game, he shows up in the middle of the opening cutscene of almost every stage to offer a practice run on one of the lyrics. If Parappa can get three successful runs in a row, the stage will then progress, though the player can also skip the practice by pressing the Start button. Like Hairdresser Octopus, Boxy Boy is voiced by Bremner. Captain Fussenpepper: Yes, the pilot with the multiple-personality disorder from Um Jammer Lammy is back! He still seems to go into strict sargent mode and back again whenever something lands on and bonks his head, though it happened quite a lot in UJL. However, he is only on the Options Menu screen, so it's kind of optional to see him again. Like Chop Chop and Ma-san, Fussenpepper is voiced by Watabe. Joe Chin: Yes, the boastful, pompous dog from Parappa 1 and UJL is back, but he doesn't do much other than being an attention pimp a few times in scenes and not much else. Like Chop Chop, Ma-san and Fussenpepper, Joe is voiced by Watabe.

Script # Now before I get started on the script to PaRappa the Rapper 2 and its dialogue, I would like to point out the terminology that will be used in this guide: EXT: External, Outside. Example: EXT. Parappa Town. INT: Internal, Inside. Example: INT. Movie Theater. V.O.: Voice Over. Example: Parappa (V.O.). O.C.: Off Camera. Example: Sunny (O.C.). [(sic)]: Mistake made in the subtitle while the person speaks. Example: Potter: Any which way, we've got to [the subtitle error says "we gotta"] think of something. In the Song Lyrics: [(US)/(JAP/PAL)]: One song word/phrase in the U.S. version which is different from the other song word/phrase in Japan's and PAL's versions, which will be used occasionally in Stages 1, 3, and 6. Example: "We cook the best! [You better get in line./Taste better than wine.]" means that in the U.S. version it's "We cook the best! You better get in line." while in the Japan/PAL version it's "We cook the best! Taste better than wine." More on that later. I will also write each song to act as if I were playing it in Good Mode only (and also only playing the Red Difficulty Level 1 in this game), plus, instead of using the main character as "PaRappa" like in the PaRappa 1 and UJL scripts, I will refer to use him as "Parappa" to comply to the game's spelling. Plus, the game will have a lot of bad grammar/punctuation, so I will correct every error I will encounter. And I may try to correct any mistakes in the script as best as I can, okay? Get it? Got it? Good. Let's start with...

********************* *3.1. Pre-Game Intro* ********************* Sony Computer Entertainment America Presents NanaOn-Sha (TM) EXT. STREETS -- NIGHT It is a terrifying night in the streets, as the crowds are running away from the one-eyed green noodle monster, which stomps on a truck that was driving in the streets and spits out noodles. Scene pulls out to reveal... INT. MOVIE THEATER An audience is sitting inside watching the scene. Among them are the yellowshirted punk and the green-shirted one. As they watch the scene when a fighter jet flies around the monster, scene cuts to reveal, from right to left: Ma-san, Lammy and Katy Kat of MILKCAN; Sunny Funny; Parappa Rappa; and PJ Berri looking in shock and awe at seeing the scene. EXT. STREETS -- NIGHT The one-eyed green noodle monster is still spitting out noodles to attack the town, then stops and sees fighter planes passing him by, then looks around at the camera. INT. MOVIE THEATER Suddenly something rips out from the movie screen, and Parappa looks frightened at the sight of the emerging noodle monster, who then spits out noodles at the frightened audience; everyone runs away screaming and the scene fades into Parappa running along with the entire audience in the blackness. The noodles are shot out of the blackness, and he looks around to see them gaining up on the audience. They attempt to make an escape for the exit on the colored doors, and he runs out of the blue one and closes it behind the noodles and locks the door. Just when he feels safe, he feels the ground shake under him, and tries to keep the door closed as fast as he can. There are the pounding of footsteps as the camera comes up closer to the doors in the noodle monster's point of view. Scene cuts to Parappa still trying hard to keep the blue door shut in fear, as the monster makes a leap for the door and pounds on it hard; then it cuts to his eye opening and him gasping in shock before cutting into... INT. PARAPPA'S ROOM Parappa wakes up with a gasp of shock and puts his hands up close to his pounding heart to keep himself from getting a heart attack. He looks around at the entire room with noodle cups around it to make sure that the noodle monster scene was only a dream, and the scene fades to the boxes of noodle cups all over the place, even near a picture of Sunny and an alarm clock. Parappa (V.O.): It all started a while back. Camera moves onto the coupons next to the noodles and the picture as the narration continues.

Parappa (V.O.): I got this coupon at a burger shop. Scene then fades to more cups of noodles. Parappa (V.O.): And I won a 100 years' supply of noodle products. Camera moves to the pictures that had fallen onto the floor near the desk before fading to black. INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE There is a close-up of a fork and plate of noodles popping up on the table as the narration continues. Parappa (V.O.): Since then, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I'm eating noodles. Camera moves up close to Parappa's father, Papa Parappa, holding a noodle bowl on the table before dropping it, which has a fish, a hot dog and a donut with noodles inside before a cloud moves in. Parappa (V.O.): At first I liked it. it. Scene fades to black. EXT. SUNNY'S HOUSE -- DAY There is a close-up of a door and its knock before the narration continues with Sunny opening the door with a smile. Parappa (V.O.): The only thing that gets me going, is the lovely Sunny Funny and her sweet smile. She walks back in the house. Parappa (V.O.): I'll do ANYTHING for her. Scene fades into... INT. SUNNY'S HOUSE There is a close-up of a window before the camera pulls to a picture and then to Sunny holding a tray of food before coming to a smiling PJ on the table and serving... more bowls of noodles with sandwiches, chicken, salad and other food on the table. Parappa is shocked to find more noodles landing on the table before a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs with marinara sauce is placed next to him, shocking him more. Parappa (looking around in disbelief): I know, I gotta, I gotta, NO! believe!! I can't But now... I don't even want to look at

PJ and Sunny look at him in disappointment, with a carton of milk next to her. Sunny: Parappa, I didn't know you were such a baby. Her words "Such a baby" echo along as the camera moves up closer to her mouth that still echoes the words, and Parappa is surrounded in stunned blackness before the scene fades to black and cuts back to Sunny sitting in silence with

her hand on her face near the food on the kitchen table before the camera pulls away to the picture on the wall before the narration begins again. Parappa (V.O.): But little did I know, this was the beginning of a long adventure. Camera moves toward the window to a view of the outside scenery, with Parappa and PJ running out of the house into the trees before the scene fades to black. There is a colorful portal of light that swirls around. Parappa tosses out a "P" onto the white screen, then zooms out and tosses an "A" onto the screen again before he moves in close up as the song "Parappa Appearance" is playing. Parappa: Say "Alright!" The crowd--Papa Parappa, Boxy Boy, General Potter, Ma-san, PJ, Lammy, Sunny and Katy--zoom in together. All: Alright! They zoom out and Parappa tosses the "RAPPA" onto the screen before zooming in again. Parappa: Say "Oh yeah!" All (zooming in): Oh yeah! They zoom out again and he tosses the word "THE" onto the screen before zooming up close to a portal of light again. Parappa: Whatcha gonna do? All (zooming in): Whatcha gonna do? All zoom out again, and this time he tosses the word "RAPPER" onto the screen before everyone zooms in to join him. All: I gotta believe!! Parappa: I gotta believe!! He finally joins in the crowd of friends as the title screen appears. PARAPPA THE RAPPER 2 (TM) (c) 2001, 2002 SCEI (c) R.G./I.P./SCP/CX*SVW ******************************************************** *3.2. Stage 1: Beard Burgers, A Parappa Town Tradition!* ******************************************************** ~ i. Intro ~ EXT. PARAPPA TOWN -- DAY There is an aerial view of the town and a far-off view of Parappa and PJ walking on the sidewalk, and the camera starts moving closer to them. Parappa (sighs): Ha, I think Sunny hates me now.

PJ (getting cheery): Of course she does.

You didn't eat her cooking.

Parappa (looks at him): Yeah, thanks for rubbing it in. PJ: Oh, um, well, maybe she doesn't hate you that much. Parappa: Think so?? Scene cuts to him looking depressed. PJ (O.C.): Yeah, noodles, right? Scene cuts back to them walking on the street as PJ continues. PJ: I sure can go for some noodles right now... Yum yum. There is a Tamanegi walking past them as Parappa gets mad at PJ's comment. Parappa (waving): No noodles for me. PJ: OK. No way!

Then let's get something else.

Parappa (smiling): Alright!! They look at some burger restaurant. PJ: Burgers rule!! Scene cuts to them near the movie theater with the two punks from the pre-game intro. Parappa: Beard Burgers, A Parappa Town Tradition! They walk up to the burger restaurant that is labeled "Beard Burger" and the doors open and close as the two enter together. INT. BEARD BURGER RESTAURANT Parappa immediately gets up to the counter near some customers seated at tables. Parappa: You know what I want. I'll have a traditional Beard Burger.

PJ (shoves him next to the counter): Me too, and I want 10 of 'em. Camera cuts to... a tray of ten noodles on buns with lettuce and tomatoes put on the counter by a young Beard Burger Manager. Parappa and PJ are in shock. Parappa (raising his fist): NOODLES AGAIN!!?? burgers!? What happened to the traditional

He jumps up in anger, and the scene cuts to the two of them and the manager next to some poster of an old master that bears some resemblance to the manager somehow. ??????: We're terribly sorry. For some reason, all our burgers turned into noodles. It's really not that bad, though. You should try it.

Parappa (angry): That's not the point.

I want a hamburger!

PJ nods, and the manager puts his elbow on the counter in disappointment. ??????: I see, well... Sorry, but we don't have any right now. Camera moves to three other managers, a snail, a turtle, and a golem, near some grinding machine. Manager #1 (snail): If only our President were alive. Manager #2 (turtle): Yeah, we can't have no baby running the store. The words "Baby running the store" echo along as the camera moves up closer to the second manager's mouth that still echoes the words, and the scene fades to... INT. SUNNY'S HOUSE: LIVING ROOM There is a close-up of Sunny Funny still repeating "You were such a baby" as the camera pulls away as she finishes with the word "baby" in a dream sequence. Parappa (covers his mouth): BABY!?!? He raises his arms in shock and the scene cuts to Sunny with Joe Chin, Parappa's rival. Sunny: OK, I'm having a date with a REAL man. Scene cuts to Parappa again as she speaks. Sunny (O.C.): You babies can stay home and play with your toys. Camera pulls up to reveal three baby rabbits from "Um Jammer Lammy" crawling up to him, and another baby is tossed into his hand. Baby: Let's play! Pawappa!!

The babies are pounding upon him lying on the ground and keep asking him to play with them, and then he emerges, dressed up in a bunny hood before the scene cuts back to... INT. BEARD BURGER RESTAURANT Parappa is still in anxiety next to PJ, when suddenly the poster sparkles, and the old man, revealed to be "Beard Burger Master", tosses the burger in anger and floats up from the poster that says "100% BEEF. Beard Burger." Beard (landing on the floor): Haa, when are you guys going to grow up?? a bunch of babies. He floats up close to Parappa and PJ as he continues. Beard: I put my whole life into opening this store, and look what happens the moment my son takes charge. While he speaks, he floats up to the manager and reveals him to be Beard's son, which surprises Parappa and PJ and the manager themselves. Beard then stands up next to the counter. Still

Beard: Here, let me show you how to make a real Parappa Town Traditional Burger. He then floats over Parappa and PJ as he speaks. Beard: Watch, listen, learn and play EXACTLY as I do. He looks at Parappa and floats away. Parappa: Really?? He soon gets an idea as a light bulb flashes and he moves quickly in close-up. Parappa: Yeah, I know, I gotta believe!!! He jumps in excitement as the circles swirl around him and raises his arms up in joy, and the rap song "Toasty Buns" begins. ~ ii. Song: Toasty Buns ~ There is a close-up of a twirling fan before the camera pulls over to the salad maker dancing along with the grill and the drink machine, and moves over to the customers and other utensils as Beard Burger Master begins the rap. Beard (O.C.): That's right, I'm in the house, Here it comes! Camera pulls over to Beard floating toward the dancing machines as he begins... LESSON 1 Beard: Extra, extra, read all about it! The best burgers in town from all around. The machines jump away to reveal Parappa dancing next to the floating Beard as he continues. Beard: People from around the world, come and get it, the line goes around like a merry go-round. He turns on the salad shooter and the salad maker, and Parappa does the same, along with heating the grill, the toaster and the patty maker tossing the burger onto the grill. Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Cut! (Uh-uh-huh, yes.) Cut! (Beard: Ya gotta, ya gotta...) Heat! (Huh, mmm, very...) Heat! (Beard: Very nicely! And...) Toast! (Uh-huh, mmm.) Toast! (Beard: You gotta, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta...) Cook! (You know! Ha ha!) Cook! (Beard: You're good now! C'mon, and...)

The scenario repeats with the salad shooter and salad maker, the grill, the toaster, and the patty maker. Beard: Cut! (Mmm...)

Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa:

Cut! (Beard: Very nice. Ya gotta...) Heat! Heat! (Beard: Ta, ta, ta, ta...) Toast! (Ha ha, yes!) Toast! (Beard: Very nice! And now...) Cook! Cook! (Beard: Yes, right!)

Beard starts dancing with the machines and Parappa again. LESSON 2 Beard: Burgers to fries, a shake or a friend, if you're hungry simply line up at the end. Come on, people, gather 'round, we got everything you want from all around. Beard goes to the salad shooter and the salad maker, and Parappa repeats along with the whole scenario. Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Cut the lettuce. Cut the lettuce. (Beard: You got to...) Heat the grill. (Mmmph!) Heat the grill. (Beard: Yeah, don't stop.) Toast the buns. (My buns are very toasty.) Toast the buns. (Beard: Uh-huh, mmm, yeah...) Cook the patties. Cook the patties. (Beard: Serve, serve, serve...)

This time Beard floats to the drink maker, and Parappa follows, along with the grill. Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Serve the drinks. (Serve 'em!) Serve the drinks. (Beard: C'mon, hurry up! And...) Melt the cheese. (OW!) Melt the cheese. (Beard: Mmph! Heh heh heh...)

Beard and Parappa are now at the frying machine. Beard: French the fries. (French them.) Parappa: French the fries. [NOTE: For some odd reason, in the U.S. game version, Beard says "French them" before Parappa raps "French the fries," but in the soundtrack version Beard says "French them" *after* Parappa's "French the fries." Beats me. :P] This time Beard holds the broom, and Parappa has a broom too. Beard: Sweep the floor. Parappa: Sweep the floors. Machines dance some more before they pull away to reveal Beard and Parappa again. LESSON 3 Beard: The ketchup, the mustard, the salt and the pepper, pour it on right 'cause we got no extra. [the lyric says "extras" but the voice says "extra"]

Yo, watch the grill, control the flame, guys, follow the rules, stay productive and wise. Parappa now has a spatula along with Beard. Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: And cook those burgers. Cook those burgers. (Beard: Mmm...) Turn the patty over. Turn the patty over. (Beard: C'mon and...)

They move on to the frying machine... Beard: Watch them fries. (I'm not kidding.) Parappa: Watch them fries. ...and then to the dancing machines. Beard: Better execute sooner. Parappa: Better execute sooner. (Beard: Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!) They move to the grill again, this time with ketchup and mustard bottles in their hands. Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: Beard: Parappa: LESSON 4 Beard: Burgers, burgers is all we have in mind, we cook the best! [You better get in line./Taste better than wine.] Now put it on a tray! Is it for here or to go? Any which way, it tastes good, you know. Beard goes for one more round with the patty machine and Parappa on the grill. Beard: Cook those burgers, turn the patty over. Parappa: Cook those burgers, turn the patty over. (Beard: Mmm, yeah, come on and...) They are now between the salad shooter, the salad maker and the grill... Beard: Cut the lettuce, don't forget the cheese. Parappa: Cut the lettuce, don't forget the cheese. (Beard: Ha! then...) ...then to the toaster and the frying machine... Beard: Toast the buns, french the fries. Parappa: Toast the buns, french the fries. (Beard: Yeah, c'mon, yeah!) ...and finally, with the ketchup bottles and the brooms. Mmm, Bring on the ketchup. Bring on the ketchup. Don't forget the cheese. Don't forget the cheese. Bring on the mustard. Bring on the mustard. Handle it with ease. Handle it with ease.

Beard: Bring on the ketchup, sweep the floors. Parappa: Bring on the ketchup, sweep the floors. The crowd cheers on Beard and Parappa as the rap ends. Beard: Yeah, yeah, now that's what I'm talking about. burgers right now. Now go serve those

While he speaks, he points to Parappa, who is holding the burgers near the customers and PJ. Parappa: Alright! I'm off to a good start!

He makes a smile on his face as the scene ends. *********************************** *3.3. Stage 2: Strictly for Adults* *********************************** ~ i. Intro ~ EXT. BEARD BURGER RESTAURANT -- DAY A Joe Chin truck is passing by the restaurant as the scene cuts to Parappa, PJ, Beard Burger Master's son and the other Beard Burger managers among the crowd, in the news camera's point of view. While the son gives Parappa and PJ ice cream cones, a news reporter is giving a flash. Reporter: This is where the phenomenon known as "Noodlization" is taking place. All the food being served in this town is turning into noodles. As Parappa and PJ start to eat the ice cream near the movie theater with the marquee "Jet Baby: The Movie" as the cameraman is recording next to Joe Chin, noodles emerge from the ice cream cones, and both of the heroes are freaked out. Parappa: Woh! PJ: Hey! I can't eat this!

The two punks run out of the theater while Parappa is speaking. Parappa: We have to stop this noodling thing. PJ: Maybe your Dad can help us. Parappa: Yeah. He's an inventor, right?

I think he used to study noodles too.

He hands the noodle cone to PJ. PJ: Well, let's go then! Scene cuts to the news camera's point of view as the two barge through the reporter. INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE: LIVING ROOM There is a close-up of the TV screen showing Parappa and PJ passing through the reporter as Beard's son walks away with a sinister look in his eyes.

Reporter: This was Rodney Greenblat, reporting live from Beard Burgers [sic] in Parappa Town. As Beard's son and the managers wave goodbye along with Reporter Greenblat, a scene of "Rodney World News" is shown on the TV screen as the camera pulls away from the TV to reveal chairs and a table, with a TV antenna and a flower vase on top of the TV. A certain man stands watching this fiasco on TV. ?????? (O.C.): It looks like the Noodle Syndicate is finally taking action. As his voice speaks, the camera pulls up to reveal... Sunny Funny's father, General Potter, smoking a pipe and looking worried. Potter: Our lives will be in danger if we don't do something quick. He turns around to Papa Parappa working on a device. Papa Parappa: Ya huh. Especially sweets, your favorite.

Potter: Any which way, we've got to [the subtitle error says "we gotta"] think of something. Papa Parappa (completing the device): Not to worry. Look at this!

Scene cuts to the finished device in a ray of light for a few seconds before cutting back to the living room. Papa Parappa: This will de-noodlize everything! Potter (looks at the device): Oh! So what is it? The former straight A student saves the day!

Papa Parappa: Well, push that green button on the TV remote control. They walk to the table together. Potter: The TV? Papa Parappa: Yeah, it's the same one. Potter (angry): Why'd you do that? Papa Parappa: I thought it'd be convenient. Potter grabs the remote control and gets a facepalm. Papa Parappa: Just push that green button, will ya? Potter straightens up. Potter (O.C.): OK. Here goes!

He presses the light green button but nothing happens. Papa Parappa (O.C.): No, not that one! Potter (O.C., realizing): Oh, this. The greener button!

He presses the dark green button, and at once a blue machine gets all smoky before a dome opens up to reveal a meowing cat. Potter gets all puzzled about this. Papa Parappa: That's the cat wash! Green but square button!

Potter looks around for the other square green button and gets annoyed. Potter: This?? It better be it!

Papa Parappa: Yeah, that's it. Scene cuts to the device on the table in Potter's point of view. Potter (O.C.): Here goes! As he presses the button with a beep, the de-noodlizer device shoots out a laser in their way, and suddenly they get shrunk down to size as the remote is knocked off of Potter's hands. They have now become like ants. Potter: Now what in the world happened here? Papa Parappa: Oh, almost!! Scene cuts to the giant carpet with Papa Parappa far away from Potter. Potter: Almost what!? Papa Parappa (showing him the noodle cup): The noodles are almost perfect! Potter bows down his head in disappointment. Potter: That doesn't mean anything! What happened to us!?

Both fathers soon realize that they are tinier than the computer chair and desk and a shelf. Papa Parappa: Ooops... I cut a few corners, but I didn't think we'd shrink!

While he speaks, Potter runs up to him looking all angry. Potter: This is NO JOKE! Papa Parappa: Don't worry. We just have to push the green button again. [the subtitle says "that" but the voice says "the"] Scene cuts to the chair and desk again with the de-noodlizer on it. Potter (O.C.): So where's the remote control?? Papa Parappa and Potter: Hey, Parappa!! button!! Push that dark green but square

Parappa grabs the remote control from the chair but doesn't have a clue what to do. He walks to the chairs near the TV, and the two fathers are suddenly shocked that he can't seem to hear them, and they try to chase him. Meanwhile, PJ notices the TV still on as Parappa walks up to him. PJ (looks at Parappa): Hey, this is a good show. lost 40 lbs. in a week. It makes you feel like you

While he speaks, the channel shows silhouettes of ninjas and the word "Romantic" on the TV screen, and Parappa looks at it. PJ: All muscles too! Parappa: Hmmmmm... maybe. While they look around, Parappa accidentally presses the square green button, and they see a ray shooting from the device at them and scream while the remote is knocked off of Parappa's hands before they are shrunk down to size and fall down towards the floor near Papa Parappa and Potter in the same size. They get up off the floor to see both fathers waiting for them. Parappa: A, hi there. Papa Parappa (angry): We've been calling you all this time! Parappa realizes this as both fathers approach. Guru Ant: Now! At his "Now!" in normal screen, the device shoots a ray that has Parappa and Guru Ant find themselves growing up in shock... Somebody do something, call somebody and make it quick. As he continues, he and Parappa grow to giant size, opening the roof of Parappa's house, growing up taller and taller through the clouds. Guru Ant: I'm sorry, I lied, just wanted, to guide everybody through this and go with the ride. They have now grown taller than the entire planet through the galaxy with both of them on top of it, complete with alien spaceships as the rap continues. Guru Ant: Parappa: Guru Ant: Parappa: Guru Ant: Parappa: Guru Ant: Parappa: Pull the lever or whatever, right now, right now. Pull the lever or whatever, right now, right now. The pizza delivery guy is near Parappa while he follows the raps of Guru Ant, who jumps off the nail and holds up a giant gold coin, and Parappa holds up the silver coin as he follows. Guru Ant: I got it all, cash, money and fame. Parappa: You got it all, cash, money and fame. Both toss out the coins as the rap continues. Guru Ant: Now back to business, you want to grow big, right? Guru Ant: I don't know what to do, it's all because of you. Parappa: You don't know what to do, it's all because of me. While Guru Ant raps at the "I don't know what to do" part, she starts yawning and stretching her arms, and the two red arrows point at her head before she lets down her arms and the arrows fade as Parappa follows. Guru Ant: I enjoy my size, my charm too. Parappa: You enjoy your size, your charm too. Scene returns to normal screen again as they do their final part. Guru Ant: Put me back, son, come on, I gotta go. Parappa: Put you back, son, come on, you gotta go. Scene goes to split-screen once again with Ma-san getting bored and manipulated once again before she holds up the remote. Guru Ant: Or I'm gonna miss my favorite TV show. shouts... Guru Ant: Now! This time, the scene returns to normal screen once again on his "Now!" and the device's ray hits their literally tall legs before they shrink down and back through the roof, into Parappa's house, and this time, they are normal-sized again behind Ma-san. There is a round of applause that sounds out as the rap finishes. Guru Ant: Hey, you're pretty mature than I thought. Parappa: Ha, thanks. Good going.

But you're still bigger than your normal size.

As he speaks, the rest of the gang, including Papa Parappa, General Potter, Lammy, and Katy, have become normal-sized again, and Guru Ant gasps in shock at his being a bit bigger than his "normal" size. Guru Ant: You're right! Make me small again!!

Noodle (O.C.): Stand up for what you believe in! Let noodles take over the world!!!! Um... In noodles, that is.

The syndicate members clap and cheer on their leader, and the scene cuts to the silhouette waving on the screen once more, which shows General Potter leading his army recruits on the road, then the syndicate members holding the noodlizer machines, then to a photographer snapping a picture in a flash of light, and then to Potter leading the recruits. The photographer takes another snapshot, this time to a back view of the recruits following Potter. Another snapshot, and this time it shows the syndicate members outside near the buildings with the machines in hand; still another snapshot later, and the same members stand in a group in darkness in spotlights, followed by the same picture in aerial view, before the scene finally fades into... EXT. BOOT CAMP -- DAY There is a row of army recruits standing in a row holding banjos in their hands as General Potter's voice speaks. As his voice speaks, Parappa and PJ are among the recruits looking bored by Potter's lecture scene cuts to Potter himself, holding a microphone and looking worried. Potter: Noodles!! Now, we must terminate this action and protect the precious, artistic foods that mankind has produced. As he speaks, both Parappa and PJ lean and look around before they get jumpy at his stepping out in front of the recruits. Potter: Such as, sweet cherry pie, spongy moist cake with frosting, destructively sweet chocolate brownies, strawberry jam donuts, roasted marshmallows with caramel, ice cold smoothies, can't forget those colorful jelly beans, and custard cream pie.

While he speaks again, Parappa and PJ look at each other and snicker before they get their focus back on Potter again. They then begin to grin again before they are stopped by his moves, and the scene cuts to an aerial view of the duo and the recruits again and moving toward the sky before cutting back to Potter and the recruits again. PJ looks around at him and gives off a smile at the thought of sweets being mentioned before the scene cuts back to Potter once more. Potter: And so, we have assembled this special force to act against and stop this criminal movement. Scene cuts to a view of three fighter jets flying above the army recruits from ground view before cutting back to Parappa and PJ among the recruits again. Potter (O.C.): The future lies in your hands! As he finishes, Parappa makes a salute, followed by PJ, and the scene cuts to Potter raising his arm and making a fist. Potter: Now, begin the mission!! He spreads out his arm in a signal, and all of the recruits, except Parappa and PJ, run out in a march, leaving a dust cloud behind them before the scene cuts back to the trio. Potter makes a facepalm and bows his head in a sigh of anxiety. Potter: If only Papa Parappa can finish that de-noodlizer... Parappa and PJ start to walk away, but Potter's hands pull them up off the ground. Potter (smiles): No, you guys go that way. Parappa looks around with PJ, and the scene cuts to a view of a training camp with a sign on top that says... Parappa (O.C., reading): "Special Armed Forces Training Camp. into a REAL MAN!" He presses the green button, and the scene cuts to... EXT. LAUNCH CENTER -- DAY The main engines start as the bridges part from the rocket, which bears the image and shape of Parappa himself from aerial view before cutting back in ground view as the rocket is bound to lauch in a cloud of smoke. Within a few seconds, the Parappa rocket is about to lift off... but suddenly explodes into bits in a self-destructing manner, and the rocket's top flies out of nowhere before cutting back to Parappa, with glass helmet broken and looking damaged, but otherwise fine. Parappa (shocked): Oops. Scene fades back to... EXT. BOOT CAMP -- DAY Scene is now in normal sequence as Parappa and PJ are feeling left out and sad at the thought while they are still held out by Potter, who takes them away. There is a scene of a green army boot on the ground, and the camera moves up to... a young moose wearing an army suit and a pink tutu and socks to go with it. The moose, "Instructor Moosesha", as she is called onscreen, begins to speak. Moosesha (with a bark): Now listen carefully. My name is Moosesha. My family has traditionally been instructing. My Grandpa, my Grandma, Mom and Dad were all mean instructors... Scene cuts to Potter holding a smiling Parappa and PJ before putting them down onto the ground as she continues. Moosesha: ...but that doesn't mean I want you to do exactly as I say. Scene cuts to a view of her, with Parappa far from her as she speaks. Moosesha: I want you to come up with your own groove. Scene cuts to the trio again. Moosesha (O.C.): We're gonna keep going until you do. Parappa walks to her, and Moosesha motions with her hand. Moosesha: Come on now. Scene cuts to the trio, with Potter making a salute, PJ looking worried, and Parappa soon getting an idea as a light bulb flashes and he moves quickly in Should've studied.

Stage 5: You Don't Want Her to Go Through This, Do You??* *************************************************************** ~ i. Intro ~ INT. SPECIAL ARMED FORCES TRAINING CAMP: GYMNASIUM General Potter is standing in front of Parappa and PJ as the yellow-shirted punk is lifting a giant barbell and a strongman is doing pushups. They seem to be on some basketball court. Potter: Good job, men. But never forget, training and real combat are two different things. Always keep up your training! Parappa and PJ (looking bored and saluting): Yes, sir!! Potter turns around and walks away, and the duo feel exhausted. Parappa: I hate being stiff. PJ: Yeah. My brain's stiff now. Can you please take a picture?

He feels dizzy and moves up to the yellow-shirted punk lifting weights, while still in a dizzying spell and bumps onto the weight lifting table, causing the punk to drop the barbell, which flies onto the green-shirted punk running on a treadmill. The barbell knocks the punk and sends him flying onto the barbell crate and knocking it down, which makes the lamps shake. The punk is then flown onto the weight-lifting machines, knocking them down and creating a domino effect, at one time knocking off a trainer in the process. Scene cuts to Parappa and PJ behind the machines knocked off in a domino effect, before cutting to an aerial view of another trainer riding on one of the exercise bikes behind them below a speaker, which blares out with Potter's voice while the same domino effect knocks the trainer off the falling bikes. SPECIAL FORCES TRAINING CAMP: GYMNASIUM As Parappa and PJ nod, more weight machines are knocked off in the same domino effect, knocking off the lockers. Parappa and PJ look in fright and run off with the trainers, avoiding the falling machines and lockers that soon cause an earthquake, and bricks and lockers fall off the ceiling, leaving a path of destruction in a dust cloud. The duo avoid the falling objects in front of them by jumping over them along with the panicked trainers, and make their way out of the collapsing gymnasium as it fades away in the dust cloud of destruction. EXT. PARAPPA TOWN -- DAY Parappa and PJ run through the streets safe from the chaos back at the training camp, and stop in front of the people in noodle afros near a hair salon. Parappa: Alright!! Check that out! Everyone's head's turning into noodles! Get out there immediately

The afros grow bigger and start swallowing up their intended victims. PJ (O.C.): Wow!! That's a cool afro!!

The afros soon grow up to gigantic size as PJ continues. PJ: But that afro's growing bigger. The afros reach a sign that says "Cafe Rodney" with a robot waitress on top of it; it sees the growing afros approaching and swallowing it up along with the sign, and flying bats appear in the distance. One of the bats knocks off PJ as he and Parappa are attacked. Parappa (to PJ): Come on, we better hurry!! They avoid the people under the monstrous afros that continue to grow bigger as they arrive at... INT. HAIR SALON Parappa and PJ have arrived at the salon using the main entrance doors, and they are shocked to hear the sound of scissors. Scene cuts to some figure in a salon dress as the camera moves upward, and an instrumental version of "Toasty Buns" is played in the background. ??????? (V.O.): WHOOO! Yeah! You lookin' FINE!

Camera soon reveals a red octopus figure, who is given the name "Hairdresser Octopus" onscreen as he continues. Hairdresser Octopus: This is the original Octopus' Styles!! Scene immediately cuts to the MILKCAN members in afros among the seated

customers. Katy: Parappa! Lammy: HELP!! Katy: He's known to do great haircuts but he's gone bananas ever since that tape deck started rolling! He'll only do afros!! Ma-san (holding drumsticks and talking in gibberish): #!#!#!#! Lammy: Please, Parappa, do something!! Scene cuts to Parappa and PJ in wonder as she complains. PJ: Mmm... but that afro looks good on you. [NOTE: For some weird reason, PJ's "Mmm..." in the subtitle comes out as "Mmmooo" with three "o's" instead of ellipses. Beats me. :P] Lammy (stunned): Don't say that! Katy: Look, Sunny's gonna be here real soon. this, do you?? You don't want her to go through

Parappa presses his hands to his heart, and the colors swirl around him along with a teddy bear, moon, stars and a ball of yarn as he closes his eyes and the scene fades into... EXT. SUNNY'S HOUSE -- DAY Parappa parks his car in front of Sunny's house in a dream sequence, whose sound seems out of sync, and he runs off with a bouquet of flowers in his hand towards the keyhole-shaped door. He knocks on the door, and finds Sunny in a dark, fluffier petal hair than she was when her hair was normal. He gets shocked at this and faints as she speaks. Sunny: Hey! salon! How do you like my new hairstyle? I had it done at the hair

Parappa is still shocked as the scene fades back into... INT. HAIR SALON Scene is now in normal sequence as Parappa feels anxious, but then gets surprised that he still has a mission. Parappa: Wha, wha, what was I supposed to do? Hairdresser Octopus jumps onto the table in the middle of the seated customers in a circle. Hairdresser Octopus: Mira! Let's see who can create the better hairstyle. BUT, it better not sound like me. Create your own style! If you win, I'll redo everybody's hair. Parappa is surprised at this. Parappa: But, [but, but,] but I've never cut nobody's hair before!

Katy: Come on, Parappa, you can do it!

Because we're MILKCAN!!!

As she speaks, she holds out a gold guitar and tosses it into the air, and at once, it seems to fly into outer space and orbits around the earth before coming back down. In a familiar "Um Jammer Lammy" homage, the camera cuts to a bell that rings out, and as Lammy's hand grabs the guitar, her battle cry music sounds, and she jumps up in a smile and shouts out her familiar catchphrase... Lammy: Leave it to Lammy!! As her catchphrase sounds out, a light bulb flashes and he moves quickly in close-up as his catchphrase joins hers. Parappa: Yeah. I know, I gotta believe!!!

He jumps in excitement as the circles swirl around him and raises his arms up in joy, and the rap song "Hair Scare" begins. ~ ii. Song: Hair Scare ~ There is drumming her bass rap with a line of seated customers grooving to the beat, with Ma-san doing the with her drumsticks and the invisible drums, followed by Katy playing guitar, and Hairdresser Octopus holding both scissors and starting the a "WOOOOOO!!!"

Hairdresser Octopus: So don't just stand there! Come inside, have a seat and relax, I promise you, everything will be alright. OK, baby, let's go. We're gonna do like this. As they start cutting one customer's hair and rapping, there is a warning which says "(Kids, don't try this at home!)" and appears in the bottom part of the subtitle throughout the whole lesson as the rap begins. While he raps, a trap door opens up under the floor between them, and Lammy emerges as she is raised up, strapped to one of the reclining chairs and looking frightened without her guitar again before the scene cuts to a view of Parappa next to her near some music machine. Hairdresser Octopus (O.C.): Come on, kids, last shot for the final. They soon start to take care of her as the rap begins its final course. Hairdresser Octopus: With the shampoo, I give it to you all. [the lyric says "I'll", but the voice says "I"] Parappa: With the shampoo, I give it to you all. Hairdresser Octopus: Rinse ya good, I made you look tall. Parappa: Rinse ya good, I made you look tall. Lammy is still frightened as her hair returns to normal while the rap continues with the rapping duo holding hair-dryers. Hairdresser Octopus: Dry your hair, blow up and down. Parappa: Dry your hair, blow up and down. They soon begin to dance to the moves as they continue. Hairdresser Octopus: Come on, son, it's time to get down. Parappa: Come on, son, it's time to get down. All the customers with normal hair are lined up as the rap draws to a close. Hairdresser Octopus: Parappa: Hairdresser Octopus: Parappa: Hairdresser Octopus: Keep the line, keep the line moving. Keep the line, keep the line moving. Parappa: Cut your hair, flat back and up front. Hairdresser Octopus: Give you a perm now, and we're done. Parappa: Give you a perm now, and we're done. As the rap ends, Katy stretches out her hands and Lammy becomes scared as they stand up and their hair becomes normal again, and the music machine gets all smoked up and breaks apart near them, frightening them both as Ma-san runs near them. Hairdresser Octopus' appearance soon changes from his red, weird-eyed self, back to his blue, normal appearance, and now speaks in a normal voice. Hairdresser Octopus: Hey, who did all of this? Parappa: You did. You told me too. That's pretty good.

As he finishes speaking, all the customers break out in applause at him with their hair now back to normal, and he moves about with a smile on his face as the scene ends. *************************************************** *3.7.
