PART TIME HELP WANTED Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church is seeking an enthusiastic person to manage our Olive Branch Bookstore and Gift Shop. This is a limited, part-time position (approximately 10 hours per week). Responsibilities would include: coordinating volunteers to ensure coverage during the store’s open hours; ordering merchandise and maintaining inventory; processing financial reports; processing deposits and invoices for the parish bookkeeper; and continuing to develop the Olive Branch as a resource in the Roanoke Valley via outside shows and marketing. THE GREAT ADVENTURE CONTINUES

We continue reading for Lesson #22, “The Church, Part 2”: Acts 8:5–15:35. Additional readings and references include: 1 Timothy 1:12–17, Mt 15:11 and 15:19–20, and the Catechism #’s 880–892.

We will meet again very soon, January 9–13, to discuss the lesson and watch the DVD.

The letters of St. Paul were written before the Gospels, so many of Paul’s terms influenced the Gospel writers. To Paul, “Gospel” means the “good news” of salvation in Jesus Christ, the proclamation of faith in God’s mercy, not the story of his life. His letters focus more on the power of God, and less on Jesus’ words or actions.

THE OLIVE BRANCH NEEDS YOU! We are still looking for volunteers to cover the Saturday shift from 10 am—1 pm and possibly Sundays before and after Mass. We also need subs to cover occasional shifts.

With enough volunteers, the commitment for these shifts will not be for every week.
