Adoration of The Blessed Sacrament- First Fridays
Spiritual writers speak of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as “the Mass held in contemplation”. As a way of encouraging devotion to the Eucharist, we invite everyone to spend some time before the Blessed Sacrament each First Friday of the month. Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place after the 8:00am Mass until the 12 Noon Mass. Come join us in prayer.

Summer Mass Schedule Sunday evening mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be at 7:00pm. It will remain at this time until September 2, 2018. The Sunday evening mass will go back to 5:00pm on Sunday September 9, 2018.

Annual Catholic Appeal Thank you to all the generous individuals who have made a pledge to the 2018 Annual Catholic Appeal at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. As of June 11th, 2018, we have 210 donors who have pledged $54,057 towards our parish goal of $59,118. Over $34,000 have been collected thus far. Pledge envelopes are still available at the church doors and in the rectory. No pledge is too small and everyone can help our campaign succeed.

FROM THE OGLE OFFICE Dear friends, During this month of June, we extend a word of congratulations to all the graduates of 2018 in our parish from our local primary and secondary schools and colleges, both public and private. We know the sacrifices that you, your parents and your teachers have made to reach this point will be richly rewarded as you use the gifts sand talents God has given you for His greater glory and for the service of your neighbor. We also offer a word of thanks to our hard-working Super-Bingo Committee, headed by Ann Bruno, whose recent fund-raiser entertained 103 Bingo players and helped raise much needed funds for the parish. This has become a twice a year event since our anni-versary year (along with the Scripture-Sharing groups), and we look forward to another one in the fall. We also thank our Spanish-speaking community for the two recent family dances they sponsored to raise funds for the annual Guadalupe events in our parish in December. A good time was had by all. As you know, we are in the midst of the Annual Catholic Appeal for 2018 which supports essential diocesan services that help serve so many needs in our parish. Every parish is assessed a goal to reach based on a percentage of total Sunday offerings for the year (not including rentals or other income). Our goal for many years has been $59,118, and we have almost always reached or exceeded it. This was true even in 2016 and 2017, in the first year two years after the Generations of Faith Capital Campaign. This year after 14 weeks, we’re a little behind our typical pace. As of June 11, we have 210 donors with $54,087 pledged toward our goal of $59,118. By the end of the 2017 ACA we had a total of 299 donors contributing a total of $66,602 – almost $7,000 over the goal. That $7.000 stayed in the parish to help us with upgrading our security cameras and catechetical technology. I hope that many of you who have not yet made a pledge will consider doing so even now. The pledge envelopes are still available at the Church exits for your consideration. Please remember that monies collected in excess if our goal remain in the parish for our own needs, such as the continuing repairs to our 147 year-old church building. As you can see, we are about $5000 short of our goal. If those missing 89 donors each pledged $56.00, we would reach our goal. If each of the 89 pledged $134, we would equal last year’s total and earn $7,000 for the parish in over-goal monies. If you are one of those missing 89, or if you would like to take the place of a past donor who is unable to pledge this year, please consider making a pledge, no matter how insignificant you may think it is. If we all pull together we can certainly reach our goal and do our part to help our parish and diocese continue the help it always seeks to offer. And finally, a blessed Fathers Day to the fathers in our parish. May God the Father guide and protect you always.

Queridos amigos, Durante este mes de junio, expresamos nuestras felicitaciones a todos los graduados de 2018 de nuestra parroquia de las escuelas primarias y secundarias locales y universidades, tanto públicas como privadas. Sabemos que los sacrificios que usted, sus padres y sus maestros han hecho para llegar a este punto serán generosamente recompensados al usar los dones de talentos que Dios le ha dado para su mayor gloria y para el servicio a su prójimo. The Jornada Youth Group Invites All Youth The Jornada Youth Group of the parish would like to encourage all youth, ages 12 and above, to join their group and be part of their diocesan movement. We especially encourage those in religious education to attend so that they further understand and experience religion through talks, meditations, ice-breakers events and much more, all which is organized by other youth! The movement’s motto is: “Youth Evangelizing Youth.” Meetings at this parish are every Friday from 7:00pm–9:00pm. Parents are welcomed. El Grupo de Jornadistas Invita a los Jovenes El grupo de Jovenes, Jornadistas, invita a todos los jovenes mayors de 12 años de edad a participar en el grupo y ser parte de nuestro movimiento diocesano. En particular, invitamos a los estudiantes de educacion religiosa para que ellos siguan conociendo la fe y la vivan por medio de charlas/platicas, meditations, rompe-hielos, eventos y mucho mas, todo que se organiza por otros jovenes. El lema de este movimiento es “Jovenes Evangelizando otros Jovenes”. Las juntas de esta parroquia son cada vienes de 7:00pm hasta las 9:00pm. Los padre son invitados. Aniversario de Danza Conchera Atl-Tlachinolli El grupo de Danza Conchera Virgen de Guadalupe Atl Tlachinolli les hace la más cordial invitación a celebrar el aniversario número once del grupo.
